Was going to post yesterday that I think I've killed my tomato seedlings, didn't open the GH on Tuesday when we went out and it was 20° outside, got up to 48° in the GH.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
..... Was disappointed for Wonky about the GH but sounds as though all's well that ends well thanks to Dove.
I had a late phone call yesterday evening ...it woke me up ...... but it was good news ... Papa Womble is going to fund the other half of the greenhouse - let's hope it's the beginning of a spell of good luck for Wonky
Glad you're back in communcation with the rest of the world BL

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
It's a really cheap old polycarbonate GH, bought mail order in France, arrived with made in England written on it, very complicated to assemble. Windows tend to blow off in the wind and are re-inforced with sticky tape.

48C! Wow. My new polytunnel has doors either end. I can see they'll have to be left open a lot.
Just heard the first cuckoo of the year. That's 26 days earlier than any in Belgium and 7 weeks earlier than last year when we had that cold, wet spring. I'm off to cut some of the grass because dandelions and daisies are having a laugh and we won't have time tomorrow.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

I had been pottering in the garden, weeding the Shady Bank and planting out aquilegias etc ... but the neighbour behind is having a new flat roof on an extension, and today was the day for the gas burner etc ......... I decided to find something else to do so phoned Norfolk Herbs - their website said the herbs I wanted were out of stock, but phone for availablility of small quantities ......... Hurrah! they had larger plants of French tarragon and several varieties of rosemary available for collection only ......... so I've just been out there ... a nice pot of French tarragon, a Rosemary officinalis and Rosemary 'Blue Lagoon' ... £9 the three ......... and a drive out in the glorious blossom-filled Norfolk countryside.

Successful trip Dove, they look like good sized plants. Much nicer day than listening to the burner. I popped out with friend to Ashwoods, I didn't buy anything We then went to a small nursery at Bobbington and I bought a couple of pots of Aubretia, very cheap and healthy, hoping they will eventually trail over the front wall.
Transplanted lobelia and diascia seedlings into pots. Greenhouse is really full now and I still have a load of plug plants being delivered. Mmmm how far away is Wonky
Just back from my mane tamed and I was saying I'd just seen the lovely tree surgeons' van heading my way. I said I was hoping they were dropping me off some woodchip.

BL , you need to get an automatic vent opener for a window or 2 , I fitted one , so it must be easy

Weather cleared and sun out for a few hours. Cold wind.

What are folk on about? Woodlice? I ask you.
Back home now. Son and DIL had a lovely lunch.
Heard the cuckoo yesterday. Usually around the 21st, daughter 1's birthday.
Nice looking plants, Dove.
