Good luck in the wilderness Clari! It's come to something when you have to go to work to warm yourself up.
Lovely hedgehogs, Hosta. As for the reaction to the Oscars thing, words fail me.
Not too many aches this morning, thanks. Hopefully the task won't be so long-winded next year; the goosegogs haven't been grown on a "leg", and hadn't been pruned for at least 2 years, so the lowest branches had rooted themselves and formed a thicket. Lots of fruit but impossible to pick, or weed round, so the layers have been ruthlessly removed; nobody's complained yet, and hopefully the bushes will produce better quality fruit. Most of the rest was a lot easier, though the Yoof of the town hadn't been over-careful with their footballs... ...and there were plenty of bottles, cans, piles of dog poo etc to negotiate too, in spite of the two large litter bins immediately adjacent to the garden.
Wet and dull now. What to do? Want to garden...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Cloudy with sunny spells and a breeze but mild. Kitchen dismantling day today. Loads of fun!
Camping in the dining room for the duration but at least we have decent sink and dishwasher in the pantry and we have kept 2 wine glasses to hand.......
Rasta doggy has taken advantage of the lack of supervision to go and roll in deep, smelly coypu poo. Pooh stinkers. Bath after walkies then.
We are having pissaladière for lunch after OH said we had to eat his drippy apéro anchovies, found in the fridge before we moved it. Your shopping list sounds a lot like mine Dove. Bon appetit!
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

OH enjoyed his pissaladière despite initial doubts. You'd think he'd know better by now.
We've been wrestling with the cooker hood since and it is finally off the wall and clean ready to be hung in the annex. He's taken the dogs out now after much muttering about bloody Windows 10.
He has had to upgrade to it against his better wishes and has been having all sorts of problems. Found fixes on the 'net but after 3 days of uninstalling and re-installing and downloading this that and t'other it worked fine for just 2 hours and then started hanging again. He says he's giving up and buying an Apple.
Plumber is upstairs having a long conversation with a radiator. He talks while he works. Very entertaining.
Had hoped to set up my new cold frames this pm but am too shattered so they can wait.

Have been pruning and tidying this afternoon, also made a loaf of bread. It takes much longer clearing up than it does pruning. There is so much to do out there.
Just when we are going to Norfolk next week the wretched French air traffic controllers say they are probably going on strike for 5 days. They are paid well and they are constantly going on strike.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Well it's been a full on h******rk day today. Glad I've got it out of the way. Just wish the rain would stop so I could carry on gardening. Can't wait for it to dry up a bit so I can start mowing the lawns. Getting really impatient now for better weather.
Hope those air traffic controllers sort themselves out for you BL.
We have a system here. I prune and he clears - my theory goes that it's a skilled and unskilled division of labour.... He's asleep on the sofa now after a week of early starts, hard labour today and walkies too.
Loads of heavy pruning to do here too in order to get things under control and there's fencing to take down so men with bulldozers can play. Cleaning and painting first though then I can play outside while paint dries.

Evening all. Rain's arrived here too, but I made the most of the dry day and got out on lovely little Ben Donich. 'Brisk', it's fair to say, rather than sunny, by the time I got up top, but only to be expected at 5pm on a frowsty March day. Some great skies - clear and bright one way, louring, moody and leaden the other
Always been idiots I suppose-there just seems to be more of them nowadays....
BL - if the strike's on next week, are you a good swimmer?....
I need to do some cold frames too - especially if I want to get some seeds done soon. Don't think the weather's to be too favourable for outdoor jobs at the weekend though
Can't be bothered with any dinner. One of the girls at work brought some cakes in today. I picked a giant Empire biscuit, and ate it just before 12, so haven't eaten anything since! It was very, very good
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
