Thanks Wonky. It was certainly not intended to be inflammatory

If I've offended, I unreservedly apologise.

Its such a shame ... the first Hello Forkers thread was started by me quite a few years ago now, at Verdun's suggestion,  to be welcoming and inclusive to everyone ... it was because there had been the development of different factions/cliques call them what you will, who excluded others from their chat threads and did not respond to posters who were not 'part of their group'.

Hello Forkers has always welcomed everyone, new and longstanding posters alike and I hope it always will.

There are always going to be disagreements and clashes of personality - we're human beings with many different backgrounds, tastes, personalities and life experiences - but it would be sad if differences were exaggerated and focussed on, rather than us all concentrating on the things we have in common.

    Morning

I too managed five hours sleep which is just as well as I was hanging in by a thread. I have never known a cough like this

so the sun is shining, the sky is blue I will get some but D today by walking around the garden.

I might just postpone that desert island charter, things are looking up here?

LilyP - glad you got some sleep - the cough does seem to go on and on and on ........... image

For some reason our bedside radio suddenly switched to local radio at 4.30 this morning and I was woken by someone with a faux Norfolk accent discussing cow's rear ends and playing Steppenwolf's Born to be Wild image

    Morning all!

Glad you slept better last night,Topbird and LilyP.  Hope the sun helps in your recovery...

We could postpone the island trip until the weather goes downhill again, perhaps.  We'll need a fridge for your chocolate, Topbird.  Unless we can rig up some sort of cool storage under the waterfall??  image

I really appreciate this thread.  It's great for motivation when that is required - nothing beats reading your eager reports of seedlings growing, beds dug etc for giving me a bit of a "kick"; but it's also a source of sound advice, care, sympathy and understanding.  Thank you for starting it, Dove, and doing the odd bit of gentle "steering" when we're in danger of going off course.

I'm really hoping to meet some of you one day.  image

It would be lovely to meet up Liri image

Several of us who are vaguely based in East Anglia have met up several times now.

We did talk a while back about a 'mass visit' to Kew some time in the summer to inspect the new long herbaceous border ... I know it's not easy for everyone to get a way, or to travel distances ... but maybe...
