Our guests have left, enjoyed lunch and their company.

Gorgeous snowdrop (nearly typed bluebell!) woods, Chicky.

I left a card in the birthday thread, Frank. I hope you have a good rest of the day.

Congratulations to punkdoc's Mum. I hope the sale goes through smoothly.

So pleased about your bluetit, Hosta! Have you put up a "sold" sign?

he's still doing the little pecking round the edges routine.

Chicky, have you seen the snowdrops over Neatham way? Can't remember the name of the village, but as you come off the A31 opposite the Hen and Chicken there's a wonderful display tumbling down a hillside in some woods.

    Hiya Liri.

She is buying a new flat in one of these assisted living places.

The best thing is, it seems to have given her a new outlook, she has gone from being very miserable, to being excited about the future.

How can you lie there and think of England

Great news Punkdoc - it must be a bit of a weight off your mind if she's feeling positive about everything - hope it all goes through ok.

Hosta - lovely pic. If that's the same blue tit who was nosing round the other day I'm amazed he made it through the hole - he looked far too fat to fitimage

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
  • Great, Punkdoc.

I wonder how many old people on their own are miserable because they're bored and lonely?  Hopefully she'll now have a new lease of life.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Lovely Hosta - he/she is just making it his/her own - like we all do  image

I was so impressed with your bird box that I bought one from the Cheap Sh*t Shop ( as I affectionately call it ) on Friday. £1.99. I figured by the time I get round to it and find the right screws, sort a suitable blade on the jigsaw, and swear at the screwdriver for packing in after five minutes, that it was well worth it!

New homes must be the in thing then eh doc? image

That's really great news about your mum. A huge relief too. Hope all goes well for the flitting and the sale. image

Lovely pic chicky. I'm very bad at going places to look at that sort of thing, but I get my landscape fixes in a different way I suppose image

Missed it terribly this weekend though. Had a quick walk round the doors for an hour and a half this morning so it got me out and going. Don't like low level walks of any kind so it's a bit of an effort to motivate myself.  On the plus side - I don't need to take a ruckie and an ice axe! Been busy outside and got lots of tidying and trimming done, so feel pleased with that.  Very mild and dry almost all day - got to about 9  degrees so it was grand.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Topbird. For fear of being called racist " they all look the same to me " image

I did take a bit of glass paper to remove the rough bits, but that didn't increase the size of the hole. "He" was outside having a bit of a peck then he reached in further and further then just popped in. I don't know if he's been around the last few days as we've been busy in another part of the garden.

Mark, Flowers - it was Welford Park just outside Newbury ......(home of bake-off???) .....very impressed that you can spot a Berkshire snowdrop when you see it Mark image.  Haven't seen the Hen&Chicken snowdrops Hosta, but I know that area - might pop up next weekend for a nosey.

Had my first weekend gardening of the year - first one that wasn't either Frosty or waterlogged.  Felt good to be out there. And just sowed my first propagator seeds too.

Pdoc -FiL moved in to a place like that last summer - its made the world of difference to him - he is positively cheerful image.  Says he wished he had done it years ago. Still independent, but lots of neighbours on hand for a chat, to watch telly or do jigsaws with in their communal lounge.
