Mmm, not sure about how good vetting by agents is. The house across the road had a couple in who bought a new house when she got pregnant and kept the old one as a rental. The first tenants were nurses, so apart from the odd hours, no problem. The new tenant is a car mechanic. He currently has his car, a works van, and three doer uppers on the front. Car revving at all hours. I am contemplating shoving a potato up his exhaust. image

I am rapidly becoming a grumpy old git. image

Hi we are having cooler weather and nice gentle rain, no frost this side Pat and i think you picture is beautiful. Our elderest  grandaughter is teaching in China and now no2  is leaving next week also to teach there, so the house is going to be very quite. Bother girls and their mum has lived with us for 11yrs since our SIL died. I have finished planting my water wise garden with the help of the garden boy. Hope all lugry people are improving and hope you are not near the fires Pat

Is that the exhaust of a car fidget, or his exhaust? I know which option would get the best result.....or the most satisfatory  image

I sympathise. The tw*t that lives at the back of me is the same. I feel like saying why don't you fill them with petrol and double their value right away? Nothing a good flamethrower wouldn't sort. He's always faffing with them too - engines revving and God know what. image

I'm not sure how good some of these agents are either. You still have to be pro-active with it all. They'll shove anyone in if they can get away with it.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

A friend of mine rented out his house in Hants while deciding if he wanted to keep a job in the Midlands. He rented it to a lovely couple in the early sixties driving a nice, not too new Jaguar.

Three months later he had call from Hampshire police asking him all sorts of questions. Turned out his house was being used as a brothel. Only when the neighbours complained about queues of cars outside did anyone twig.

After all that, I think I'm glad we are selling our rental flat! We used an agent as we aren't nearby.

Had laptop problems again. OH has been fiddling with it and I've managed to get here. But he can't remember what he did and in what order!

Have sorted my seeds and thrown away quite a lot. Opened packets dating from 2011. I keep buying them when I don't realise what I have already. Bit of an addict! Why have I ordered so many plug plants?image

Topbird there you are, however I did wonder which part of the country/ world you are as you seem to be the only inein sunshine today?

Punk, sorry my i's and u's muddled again, touch free isn't the same in an iPad !! Liro, same ?

Fairy when we went to Oz in the 80's our house was rented out, I felt dreadful when we came home and neighbours told me the stories, especially as the agent was a "friend" who assured me all was well!

Yvie what a beautiful hellebore ?
