  • This morning they said we'd get winds of 30 a 40 mph. Now they're saying 70 - 80 mph in about an hour.

I don't remember winds this strong or noisy since waking up in the middle of the 87 hurricane. We were cut off and without electricity for around a week back then.

Storm in full swing here. Torrential rain and possibly the worst winds I have known in 25 years living here.

All seems safe at the moment.

How can you lie there and think of England

  • Stay indoors Pdoc!!!

Son lives on the Suffolk coast - he says he's lost some roof tiles. Wonky's plastic greenhouse now bears a strong resemblance to a Hawaiian grass skirt image

Lets hope it's all over soon.

  • Eeek.  Sounds scary for some of you... hope you can stay safe indoors.  Still just a bit breezy here.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Not enjoying this storm at allimage

The 2 main roads out of the village are now blocked by fallen trees. There is another route but it involves a diversion of several miles & that might be blocked too. (Wouldn't be covered by our village updates)

Glad I decided not to go out - might not have got home againimage

The horses in the field opposite are going a bit crazy too...

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
  • I'm going to pick OH up when the Farm Shop closes - not really safe to cycle around here with wheelie bins flying through the air ...

Evening all - hope everyone is ok in the windy, wild weather. Hope you've no damage doc  image

We had about three inches of snow accumulating through the morning, but it turned to sleet and most is gone now. It got up to 2 degrees or so, but ice forecast for tonight and tomorrow. Plenty snow on the hills on t'other side of Glasgow, and plenty further north/ north east of course, where it's been gale force winds etc., and the Borders has had a battering too. Winter weather, but we've not had much of it this winter.

Keep you head down Dove image

I have come home to a very damaged apple tree. It's the smaller of two old trees. It has ripped off a large main branch so hope disease doesn't get into the tree - how annoying. "Could be worse"...

The wind seems to be dying down now - phew!

My garden and I live in South Wales.
