I quite liked the little courtyard - small spaces like that are very difficult to work with. At least if they have a lot of faffing and fussing, there aren't too many plants to do! Last week's modified, contemporary one was lovely, I thought. My kind of space.
I find I sleep better if I've had a snooze, or more, on the settee Dove. Several years of sleeping on it I guess. My body still hasn't fully adjusted to having a real bed again!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
No one told my bodyclock its Saturday! wide awake at 7.30 am with hubby asking me why! I've now been evicted to the back bedroom with the cat.
Really nice day yesterday,...except for Tony Blair crawling from under his ego to tell us all how to think!
Spent the day doing window cleaning round in brilliant sunshine! eating biscuits and drinking tea and chatting to lovely customers. I'll be doing the gardening round on Monday so fingers crossed for more nice weather! Off to a little nursery later with a list of shrubs to get for a lovely lady with a coastal garden.
Hope everyone has wonderful weather and a lovely day ahead!
Woken at 5:30 by a playful kitten wanting to go outside - no - and then again at 6:30 by the other wanting cuddles. Dozed off again till 9:30. Now the babies have been fed and Rasta has had her meds and I'm on my second coffee so all is well apart form OH having golf on TV instead of the news.
Frosty this morning after a clear night with a very bright Venus. Sunny tho and should get warm so I have a sleeveless t-shirt on under my big fleece lined gardening shirt, just in case. Spraying next and then more hacking and some freesia bulbs to pot up. Plenty of vitamin D making.
Haven't seen last week's BDSS yet or last night's. I do know I really dislike contrived jungle gardens that need coddling over winter but I quite fancy your ginger lilies Hosta. Might get some if I decide to have a "hot" bed with cannas.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Hello all, quick pop in. I am ok but keeping a low profile, lot of soul searching going on and planning for the future. Still waiting for my completed business plan to take to the bank - the lady on my case has just gone on holiday for 2 weeks, very frustrating, she was waiting for one document from me and by the time I was able to get it to her she had finished for her holiday - grrww!
Anyway, I hope you are all well. I am ok but frustrated and anxious to move on. I am thinking of this time as that time just before your first baby arrives, in those last few weeks of pregnancy, you are twiddling your thumbs impatient for it's arrival and everyone keeps asking 'have you had it yet' or telling you to enjoy the peace whilst you can. Of course you don't and then when it finally arrives you don't know what's hit you. Desperately trying to learn from that experience and enjoying the calm before the storm and be ready for the madness when I actually get the tea rooms. That's my positive way of thinking about it anyway.
Have a good week-end all.

They're fab Obs. They're one of those plants which make you panic by not showing any signs of life ,sometimes until late May, but when they do.... they're off.
we have another misty damp day. I started pruning clematis last week but havent fed them yet. Fairy I was so envious of your Nora I bought two a few years back, only one shows signs of growth.....tips?
worrying day yesterday as new babe in Moscow was a blue light to hospital with breathing issues. Out of danger this morning but still very poorly. Teams of people but little English spoken, tricky

Postman has just been, delivered 2 large self adhesive photo albums that I'd ordered, just what I wanted, lots of pages and room for 4 photos a page. Got up to July 2015 when we went to East Anglia on holiday and decided to buy a cottage there. OH had sold his French house a couple of years before and had been looking in the Cotswolds, but couldn't find a 2 bedroom cottage with 2 bedrooms and a courtyard garden for the price of a French 4 bedroom with an acre. Met Dove so the new album will have a photo of her in it, outside a gorgeous Suffolk pub.
Busy day planned. Have friends coming to lunch tomorrow so shall prepare it today. Smoked salmon roulade, ragout of beef in red wine with dumplings (French English fusion!), 3 veg, chocolate mousse. Also tidy and dust dining room.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Consider it done. It bulks up very quickly , as the lady from NT said.
It's a cracker.
