Nipped to SM this arvo and it was a sea of red shirts all putting similar items into trollies - beers, crisps etc. - quite amusing.
Just had steak fillet - was very good but not excellent as I slightly over-cooked them this time. I'll blame this on the fact they were Welsh beef - so a double Welsh disappointment tonight
Not tartiflette in the end. We had seiche (squid) cooked as a casserole. First time we've had it like that and very tasty. Very pleasant evening. They have a handicapped daughter the same age as Possum and we took her a bunch of roses because she loved the ones I used as individual place decs when they came to us. She can't speak but uses gestures and insisted we take one home with us. Made friends with their dog too - greyhound/retriever cross and gorgeous but timid.
Full moon again tonight and a few stars and wispy clouds so another cold night in store.
Joyce - I hope you get your appetite back soon.
No idea what happened in the rugby. No doubt OH will be up early to watch the recordings.
Hosta - you can't have tartiflette anyway - lots of white wine in a good one.
Topbird - they're eating very well and yes, growing fast.
Busy - how long till your new car arrives?
Thank you to all who have congratulated Possum. What a lovely bunch you are. Hope everyone else's student offspring are doing well too.

Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.
"The price good men (and women) pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men (and women)."
Morning all - when you arrive and afties Pat if you arrive too
I wish daughter could get a later shift on a Sunday...it's the only drawback of walking on Saturdays. I have to be up to take her on Sundays and I'm getting too old for getting up at the back of six two days in a row
I take it Wales lost...we did some rosettes for a chap in Wales the other day - a suppporter's club I guess. He left it a bit late - more than a bit actually - but we managed to get some art work done of a dragon and got 100 off to him. Pity they didn't help!
Is it Scotland's turn today? Should really get a Saltire to fly in the garden -support our lads and all that
No idea what the weather looks like just now but I think it's to be pretty dull and wet.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
2 degrees here just now Hosta. Don't think it's to get much higher. Chilly last night - I had to put the heating back on later. Had it on for a couple of hours when I got home and it was fine till about half eight. House is well insulated so I don't have it on much at night.
Hope the day goes well. I enjoy driving but I don't have to do it for work - totally different!

Know what you mean Hosta - my lounge is now warmer because of the extension, which is my new bedroom. It also has three external walls and nothing above as it's single storey. Warms up quite quickly though - it's not that big!
You wouldn't have liked the temps where I was yesterday

Sorry, got called for dinner by Hubby. Rather nice - crumbed Pork steaks, fresh Zucchini and mashed spud.
Unbelievably, we've had a temp drop today and rain since last night. Max was 24.7c Much more comfortable. You might not want to swap after all Hosta. I'm not certain I'd prefer snow to our heat wave.
Busyl, the ants are very small, less than half a cm, but the worst is the feeling of them on me and then the stink of Formic acid when I squash them.
Punkdoc, grapes and Toga - it's a wonder she didn't clock you in the rib. Mind you, I did get a good laugh from the thought.
Lilyp, hope you back is feeling a bit better and Joyce, it sounds as though you're working your way through the cold.
Obelixx, I love hearing the adventures of the cats and dogs. I had a good laugh yesterday when son's cat arrived. She immediately did all the things she does when she is here. Started with trying to get outside to play with the Skink family she can see through the door, then up to my study to curl up on my painting chair, thenback to the laundry where her litter tray is to scatter cat litter all, over the floor, then up onto the shower railing to survey the house, then up onto the head rest of the lounge where HRH reclines. This was all done within about half an hour. It was as if she was making sure all those things are still there.
Yvie, you might not want to swap. It has been truly terrible
Now for the evening news, central NSW has catastrophic bushfires with many homes lost and still out of control. They done know how bad yet. Too busy fire fighting to get in to check. Mostly from Newcastle area through to Mudgee for those of you who know NSW. I'll be keen to keep checking the news broadcasts to see how they are going. Temps there have been in 40s and above. Shocking footage. I feel so sorry for people who have been evacuated and then lost their homes.
I need to get back to Landscape Artist of the Year, so will get back later.

Morning all.
Too dark to tell what the weather is like, but I reckon it's freezing if the temperature indoors is anything to go by.
Driving today but at least it's dry.
Morning everyone. I missed yesterdays posts; son arrived for a visit. He doesn't have air con and Canberra was having power cuts. He went back today.
More later.
Forecast is for a Max of 3C here today Pat. Fancy a swap?

our house is well insulated, but it's a weird, cruciform shape and rarely warms up to my liking. Our bedroom has 3 external walls.
