    Certainly hope not Pat  image

I think Mrs Doc is trying to tell you something, doc ....image

You could send Pat  some snow to get those fires cooled a bit. Weather doesn't know what to do here - we've had a bit of everything, including a random blink of sun. Temp still not shifted  above 2 though.

That fat robin was practically chapping at teh door when I came home there. If he eats any more he won't get off the ground. Mr and Mrs Denzel were happily chucking stuff out the raised boxes to get whatever tasty morsel was in there. Messy blighters  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I've been in the shed.....I packed my shed and in it I put.....2 large 1950s wardrobes, one matching bookcase, matching dressing table, matching wall dresser all in walnut vaneer. All sister in laws that couldn't be bothered to get rid of when she moved...two king size mattresses, one bed base, one dismantled bed frame, a fridge freezer, 3 seatrer sofa, cooker large dining table, 3 shelving racks, ......now somewhere I need to put the gardening things I thought! image

My friend and I went out there and in an hour we had stacked it all so now its multi story leaning tower of furniture, but with.....room! Lots of room! image

I'm a little mucky now image

Have you thought of holding a garage sale Wonky?

I'm not sure there is much of a market for this style of furniture anymore Obelixx, its very ornate but reproduction. Apparently there is a market for it in the USA but the transportation would be a nightmare! It is a large shed luckily, about two double garages side by side in size, but yes eventually total clearing would be fantastic! A kitten adventure playground as Flatters can attest to!

  • Or charging sister in law for storage? image

Wonky; let her know while tidying you found evidence of mice living in the shed. A not uncommon problem in the winter. You don't THINK they've damaged anything YET but if she wants to keep it all she needs to move it to a more suitable location. image

As for saying no to scouts. We'll have to see. I'm going to talk to a few friends that are leaders. Having not been a scout myself (and I've only been three times to this group!!) I'm still trying to work it all out.

Unfortunately Clark, I think it's the case that she doesn't want the furniture, but wants the boxes and bags of..stuff...I've used the furniture to sure the boxes and bags of stuff in....It's a solution for now!

On the scouts, remember that these are essentially a mob of children that their parents have relinquished responsibility of for a few hours into your care for them to now be YOUR problem! image

Dove, I think we both know the likelihood of that bill being paid! image

Wonky; scouts (like so many youth groups) is essentially a cheap baby sitting service. That is obvious enough by the fact that they're asking a childless stranger they have known for exactly 4.5 hours to help while the parents dump and run as quickly as they can!

  • Let it be known that Wonky refused to continue membership of Brownies, Drama or any other club as they "..kept telling her what to do ... ".

She did, however, want to learn to box ... Back in those days no boxing clubs would accept girls ...

Clari - it's sometimes wise to say "NO".  You have only been involved for a short time and, going by the church attendance, there doesn't appear to be very much commitment .  You can always change your mind later when/if you see that others are also making some effort.
