Hi Glenys. Yes, I'm glad they started that annualrace for Cadel and the coast road is lovely.

weve had similar temps today, but the rain is still holding off.

  • Back from tennis - just played 5 games as the heating in the hall was on and the dry air was making me cough.  At least my partner and I won image

    Hi allimage

Well done Dove.  Shame about the cough but at least the shoulder held upimage.

LilyP I did the upgrade on the iPad too and it doesn't seen to have affected the keyboard but I have had that 'pause and rush' thing now and again.  I'd hoped that the screen freezing would have improved but no such luckimage.

This afternoon will be spent trying to sort out the freezer which is packed to the lid with all sorts.  I'm hoping to make a little bit of space for more.  I'm spending a lot of time cooking as it helps to warm the house.

  • Thanks Lesley - as you say, at least the shoulder was ok - that's cheered me up even if the cough came back image

Shame about the cough Dove.  Maybe another couple of weeks' rest?  Boring and frustrating but best not to be laid low for the spring onslaught.   I can sympathise.  Must admit I'm getting fed up with inactivity due to the toe and the kittens are getting stir crazy waiting for their jabs to be effective.

Very mild today with lots of grey stuff which is expected to deliver wet stuff tomorrow.  Good - we can start on the scullery re-organisation and fridge swaps.    Potting and pottering this pm and some creative thinking so I can sow some spring onions somewhere.

I have been out to check bulb progress and there are lots of little noses poking up.   Hope they lead to a good display and some food for early bees.

We have a pantry and cupboard reorganisation planned too - OH says he will do it if I supervise image

Sounds like a plan Dove.  If I'd known I wasn't going to be able to live with the current kitchen we could have done the fridge thing straight off.  It involves removing an old kitchen unit with counter height fridge stuck in the middle, drawers below and a cupboard above - all so we can get our current tall fridge in there and shift out the small one and then remove the ugly, deep-but-too-small sinks and fit in our real dishwasher.

I foresee OH getting stroppy and fussy.   Good luck with yours.

I have just planted the last of the daffodils I found in a bag in the garage. Now I've got to vacuum the mud I trailed through the house. image

It must be nearly Spring. The robins are getting stroppy defending areas.

    Afternoon allimage

Has been a lovely sunny day here in Portsoy (halfway along the coast E of Inverness). Really enjoying the scenery in this part of the world. We're generally highlands and islands lovers but this has been a very pleasant change.

Camped at Braemar on the way up. Had been -11C the night before so the roads through Glen Shee were interesting and the hills a lovely monochrome of shallow white snow with black rocks poking through - beautiful.

Saw our first red squirrel of the trip yesterday - such pretty little creatures. The camp site had feeding stations to encourage them inimage

Back down to Glencoe tomorrow so expecting more good views on the wayimage
