Oh Busy, How lovely to have the family, I remember you telling us about the quantities of food you got thro over the festive season Was it 9 baguettes? then someone had to go back for more!

Exciting news to share here - Chicklet has been accepted for a place to study abroad next year - so she is off to Adelaide in July ?. Might need Pat to keep an eye on her for me . She is very excited - it all depended on exam results and a reference from her Nottingham tutor, so we've had a nailbiting few weeks. I'll be giving thanks to the inventors of Skype, facetime and whatsapp
How exciting Chicky!!! Well done Chicklet. I used to work with someone who was from Adelaide and who has returned there - it sounds a great place. - lots of music and the arts

Well done Chicklet. Travel broadens the mind. A great thing.
Right, Rant time.
Yesterday and old guy ( 80 + ) came up to the kiosk. He's on crutches and moving very slowly. I scanned his shopping , £2.50 exactly. He's fumbling with his change and I notice, well, let's say, he's not got much in the way of fingers. Stumps really. I offered to help and he held his hands out. I picked out 2x £1 coin and a 50p. He thanked me and I carried on sticking it in till, receipt etc. As I went to give him his receipt, I noticed his was trying to pick up a 5p coin which he'd dropped. 3 people had formed a queue behind him and all were just watching him. I looked at them and , in a voice louder than is considered polite in Waitrose said " Oh for God's sake!! " and left my till to go and help him. Only when they realised I was going to help him, and NOT serve them, did someone bend down and help him. GGGRRRRR
Rant over.
Home delivery last night:
Customer :" I'm going to have to send this steak back. Normally it comes as two small ones, I don't want one big one"
Erm, can't you just cut it in half and have half each? I thought , but the customer is always right. Daft cow.
Foul day out here . Rain and wind . I think tunnel chores beckon.

Good morning all

Morning all. Couldn't work out why my ring finger felt so odd; three massive blisters on it might explain things! Duck necks are hard work cutting up.
Today I'll be creating a nation of life savers. Or at least teaching CPR to anyone visiting the museum that wants to learn.
Keep safe everyone; it's going to be breezy!
Morning Dove
So pleased to hear littl'un is on the mend.

Morning all/afties Pat. Food shopping for me later too. A necessary evil
Bit clamer here today after all the wind and rain - a breather before the next lot brings the snow I suppose.
Hope the finger's a bit better today Liri . Painful. We only realise how much we take something for granted when we can't use it!
Very exciting for chicklet, chicky. Have you got her plenty of sun cream and a selection of hats? The one with the corks is a necessity I believe...
Oldest fairylet was talking about something similar - don't know if that will happen though.
Quick look round here before I go to the mine. Hey ho - it pays the bills - just!
Hav a good day everyone.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
