Good to see you Wonks - hope things are 'on the up' for you
Some of that horizontal snow blowing here now too, Liri, but it won't lie. Not going outside if I can help it! Funny how it's not really an issue if you're out on a hill because you're there and already committed, but when you're inside the house it's a different matter!
...and before anyone else says it, yes - I often think I should be committed when I'm up a hill on a wild day!
What 'photies' have you got Liri - I've just done some of mine. A couple of potential jigsaws amongst them I reckon.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I don't think your bonkers going climbing In All weathers, I sit outside for ages in the depth of winter as the cats insist and I get cabin cooped up fever if I'm indoors too long! The air is always so invigorating when its cold and as long as you have a series of ridiculous hats...which I do...then you don't feel the cold! And at least no other 'sensible'people are out at the same time!
Liri, we are such a soft touch for a snow covered moggy aren't we! Flatters took advantage of me in the same way last night!
I have to admit that I'm more of a fair weather walker these days, Wonks, and it's surprising how many people I meet that say the same. Had too many walks when the weather sweeps in suddenly, and you don't even get time to get the waterproofs on so your gusset's at your knees in seconds!
At least the snow/hail is dry, so always better than the rain. You don't need any of those face scrub products if you go up a hill in that 'bracing' weather. You get a good scouring from the windblown snow

I don't blame you Fairy, I don't mind rain as long as I'm waterproof and its not in my face! I sported a baseball cap for many years when I didn't drive and often and to bike long distances in all weathers for work.
Also when working outside I find I get through a heck of a lot of moisturizer!
I always laugh when people quote that thing ' no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothing'. Clearly they've never been on a Scottish hill...in summer....
I worked outside for many years Wonks - I was starting to grow webbed feet.

Morning all. I took one look at the weather and went back to bed to snuggle with two kittens and a Rasta doggy. Both kittens have been outside again - Cosmos keen to go but is staying away from trees. Minstrel has her tail bushed out the whole time and has now asked to come in and is sat watching Cosmos romp in the gravel "garden".
It is perishing out there with grey bits and light drizzle and a serious wind chill. I've sprayed a layer of acrylic varnish on the new terracotta pot I had to buy yesterday after finding a packet of daffs in the annex. We need to clear some space for leccy man coming to lay cables for my real cooker. Turns out the neighbours have a Falcon which is a Rangemaster in French disguise and can tell me where to get all the spare parts I may ever need.
Hah! Minstrel went out again to check on Cosmos and scarpered through the wire mesh fencing to cross the road and inspect the cattle pasture! Fine now but not so clever in spring when the mums are out there with their babies. OH has been and enticed her in again.
Your new jumpers sound great Wonky. Well done Dove.
Pat - we had a fish lunch on the coast at Newcastle whilst taking the scenic route from friends in Manley Heights to others in Canberra and stopping off at Kangaroo Bay where the roos can occasionally be seen surfing. They didn't for us but we were bombarded with friendly parakeets. Dreadful to think of it all being burned.
Stay safe everyone and keep warm.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Love the installments of kitten adventures Obelixx! what were we just saying about taking pity on soggy moggy's Liri? Flatters is now paddling the duvet and chewing his big feet with OH oblivious as he's fallen back asleep dispute me making him coffee!
Punk; your oh needs a talking too! Even my partner made tea in bed this morning.
Well Scouts at church was interesting.
Who came? The scout leader and her two children who didn't have a choice. We were then joined by a scout whose mum is a guide leader and thus... no choice. No other leaders (except me and the leader was genuinely amazed I'd come) and no other youth. I understand the weather is grim and people have better things to do but it is a shame when the church support the group so much.
The actual service... well I wasn't expecting to have to be a submarine and 'dance' to a song. It was really quitenjoyed fun.
BUT afterwards while we were packing away the flags the scout leader asked if she could have a word; I was expecting comments on my choice of trainers as a poor example to the scouts (but in this weather I wanted all the grip I could get and my smart shoes are slippy in the dry).
Nope, she wanted to ask if I would be THE SCOUT LEADER. They need an overall group leader that looks after everyone and it looks like it needs to be her. Bit that means she can't be the scout leader asked well soooo...

Hi all.
Snowing hard, it is beginning to stick.
Glued to sofa again, with no sympathy from OH, certainly no breakfast in bed and I made the coffee.
