    Evening all.

What a day. I work 8-4 and I had 9 deliveries. A colleague works 8-12.30 and had 2, yes two.

Funnily enough, I was late back and had no lunch break. Hey ho. I did kinda enjoy it.

Some lovely holiday lets including one right on the slip way at Crackington Haven and a lovely old house which must have been about 16th century, and a lovely converted barn. Usual nightmare of no phone signals and rubbish sat nav. Very cold ( high of 4.5C )and ended up having to breath on the handset to warm it up before prodding my Raynaud's freezing fingers onto it.

Day off tomorrow so hopefully will get something done in the garden as the temperature is rocketing up to 10C.

    Devon.

Clari - I do think it's too early for you to take on so much.   Stay as helper while you learn the ropes and get to know the boys and parents and then decide whether you want to commit further.

Wonky - the mouse ruse is a very good idea.  Clever Clari.

Hope you've warmed up now Hosta.

It has stayed brassy here today.  I decided to clean upstairs, starting with Possum's room and let the kittens out through the window and onto the roof of the annex whence they can easily jump into the garden.   Minstrel finally decided it was OK to jump and then ran straight up a tree.  Cosmos eventually worked out that he could run down a sort of ladder thingy I found but, of course, fell through a hole near the bottom and then ran up a tree.   Daft pair.   Stayed out for ages despite the cold then came in for a feed and a long long sleep.

Just waiting for slow roast belly pork to cook with turnips braised in marmalade and Savoy cabbage with caraway seeds.

Been out most of the day. Had a delish lunch with friends and lots of chat.

Laptop seems to be working at the moment so just read back, but a lot to comment on and memory is hopeless. Hope everyone had a good weekend and Joyce, punkdoc and all not well people are feeling better. Going to look around the forum while laptop is behaving.

Think obelixx asked when my new car is arriving. End of April. It will be flame red, hopefully I won't lose it in the SM car park.image

  • BL, when our son was learning to drive we bought an ancient lavender-coloured Nova.  It was registered to me - don't think he could have coped with the shame if it was his - but at least we could always find it...  image

Fairy, sorry - was busy cooking for the visitors, so didn't notice your question.  The photos are taking their time loading but there seem to be a fair few to choose from already.  Might make another jigsaw or two myself!  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Evening all, just got back from firstborn's, lots of cuddles from Mabel and been talked to death by Merri, she's deciding what to ask for on her birthday, it's not till end of April but she feels she needs to be preparedimage.

Firstborn and Secondborn have 'had words'.  I hate family arguements, I'm sure they will get over it but it always makes me feel very sad.

It's been freezing cold here today, I can't wait for it to warm up a bit.  The wind is really whistling down the chimney but it's too late to light a fire.

Fires sound awful Pat, glad they are not close to you.  Hope everyone stays warm and safe.

Hi everyone. I've been woken by a phone call at 9am -a neighbour telling me about her son's two jack Russell terriers killing a 5 foot brown snake And another story abour her grandson nearly walking on a Tiger snake while out shooting large carp in the river. Sometimes I'd rather not be reminded about them.

Then I crept back into bed and started reading all your adventures since I went to bed last night and the phone rang again (what is it with Monday mornings) and Hubby's new spectacles are ready to collect from the optician in town. We might be going to town today after all even though we weren't planning on it until Wednesday. HRH is still asleep on her bed beside our bed, so we cant go until she's had her morning twinkle or she'll do it inside.

    have a good sleep all.
