So much for this silly american import of naming storms. Even Hubby mentioned last night was the worst wind we've had since we moved here 5 years ago. He even looked out from the bedroom window at first light to check the tunnels ( both fine )
I think they've given a name to Friday's storm, More fun on the way. NOT.
Chicky how lovely that your daphne is out, we have one and I can't wait! We have nearly all the snowdrops out and the daffs are well up. Not often Scotland ahead of Surrey!
hope the storm doesnt do damage, stay safe.
Weeds are flowers, too, once you get to know them.” A A Milne
I know many of my flowers are earlier here, especially roses, because of our long hot summers. But I'm surprised that snowdrops are earlier here too because we tend to have colder winters than in the UK.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Just seen our weather forecast, rain and gales. Going to lunch with friends tomorrow, south of Bergerac so a bit of a drive. Hope the weather isn't too awful.

morning all,we are also having cottage pie for dinner tonight, grey skies here today but no rain again. I started to clean a bed out to add some more water wise plants, but now I am feeling lazy. When you write about Scotland i know lots of the places. Hope your weather is not to bad tomorrow for every one, and i hope Dove will start to feel bettter soon
Wet & breezy here. Could be a bit blowy overnight - we shall see...
BL, it's interesting that your snowdrops are early. I know they hate warm winters, but the timing of their flowering is a bit of a mystery; could it be connected with day length rather than temperature? Though that doesn't explain them flowering earlier in Scotland than Surrey this year... amount of sunshine??
Hope nobody gets blown away today.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
