Oh dear only -2 this morning and forecast of maximum of 3 degrees for only a couple of hours in the afternoon.  No gardening today then.  I doubt whether the frost will go at all today.  It should be killing a few pests though.  Need to be tough to survive this !

    Good morning Marion.

I hope it warmed up a bit for you yesterday to allow some time in the garden.

It was a sunny day here and, before and after lunch, I managed about three hours total in the garden on my kneeler. Cleared a triangular bed of weed seedlings (hundreds!!) and remaining leaves. The hellebores in that area are slowly opening and there are erythroniums, miniature daffs and anemone blanda to look forward to plus self-seeded forget-me-not.

I'm looking forward to seeing your alpine tapestry.

No gardening to speak of yesterday Joyce but today is more promising.  +1 already and set to reach a heady 7 degrees so noon should see me outside.  Supplies are beginning to arrive for my potager so will be chitting early potatoes and sowing garlic chives and broad beans in pots next week as well as spring onions and planting banana shallots.  We have no frost forecast for the next four days.

I have just done an hour in the garden in the sunshine.  My cheeks are glowing but that is partly the cold air.  I will try to do another hour or so after lunch.

GWRS sounds like you are beavering ahead with your jobs.  Son no. 2 came to visit this afternoon but we decided it was too chilly for gardening.  He promised to come next weekend and do some tidying.  He was pleased with my progress and happy to see the house and conservatory again from the terrace!

Foggy this morning but dry and little frost.  Only 6 degrees forecast so unlikely to get any gardening done outside.  i may tidy up a bit in the conservatory ready for seed sowing.
