Happy New Year Marion. I'm glad you are going to continue telling us about your lovely garden. Your 88 year old  body does amazingly well looking after it! An inspiration to us all.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

GWRS I'm going to be wearing it today, having a stroll around the garden centre today ?

  • Good Morning Marion. Im looking forward to your adventures.

Cold hard frost here in South Manchester.

I' ve already posted a thread re planting garlic.

I haven't been in touch with the Forum much this past year, made redundant, so spent most of redundancy volunteering in the 'jungle', Calais. just managed to get temporary work in retail at minimum wage. will have to grow lots of food this year!

Goldfinch 60 start now with cut and come gain salad leaves as salads in the shops will be very dear soon due to flooding in southern Spain!  Ready to eat from sowing in a week and do well on kitchen windowsill.

Happymarion you have made me smile with those lovely pics and at the thought that you are still an active gardener at 88.

I love the sound of the alpine tapestry garden. I have a small border next to my table and chairs which have some alpines and I would like to add to it this year. I have a fairly large garden with some very large specimens so the little alpine area is a lovely contrast. I may 'pick your brains' later in the year for some tips.

I usually make a wish-list of plants before I go the RHS Spring Flower Show in Cardiff (not too far for you to travel maybe?) so I may pick up some alpines there this year. I always buy scented pelargoniums there too.

My garden and I live in South Wales.
