    Happy New(ish) Year, Forker friends!

One day at a time for us all, I think.  Very best wishes to you all.  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Afternoon all: honestly I haven't just got up! It was a very boring night here but I'll spare you the exasperation of reading about that.

Today full of new years motivation I'm trying to sort the kitchen. I want to get a better control of my spending on food (his lordship suggested it... then as if to prove a point did what he often does which is ask what we're having for dinner - I tell him - and instead of asking / assuming that I would have the ingredients in stock goes out and buy them - I even told him I was trying to use up what we have in the cupboards / freezer!)

Can I get him banned from Tesco? Or perhaps just the kitchen.

Hmm... maybe not the kitchen. Otherwise he wont be able to retrieve the eight car tyres that are over wintering in here.

Right. I must go and sort out the baking cupboard. I'm not sure why I have six round baking moulds all the same size.

I did a similar thing yesterday Clari. Took everything out, gave it a wipe and put the "all-the-same"s in one container and put it all back. I was knackered and the kitchen looked as if nothing had happened!!! A thankless task but when I open the doors...I know!!! image

I also found my niece's lost Christmas present. It was under the spare roasting tin where Wren wouldn't find it. Neither would anyone else it seems. image

Afternoon lovely people - I've only been away a little while and you've filled pages with your chat!

Gorgeous photo Pat - glad you've had a nice day and a relaxing evening. That's what life's all about really, isn't  it?  image

And DD - you'll have loads of those to come. I promised you that before, and us fairies don't lie about that stuff image

Hope you're feeling a bit better soon BL. The wet weather won't help - always makes you feel worse I think.

Short outing today - could have been shorter if I hadn't been fighting the 'breeze'. Who mentioned it not being windy any more....image

I thought of nipping along to Ben Donich as well, as I didn't get out last week, but decided just to come home. I can get some more painting done.

The wet last night turned to ice, so the car needed scraping and I had to be careful with the roads till I got nearer Paisley when the temp got up into plus figures. The benefit of that is that the boggy lower slopes of the hill were nice and crunchy, so the boots didn't get too wet. Got some nice photos - I think - but the ones from the summit might be a bit blurry - it was hard to keep it still. The frozen white stuff/hail was coming in and out, although the neighbouring summits were getting the worst of it. It's good for scouring the face though - who needs a facial scrub anyway....image

I shall have a quick catch up while I have a cuppa,  and do the pix, but here's a little one of The Brack on the way up the hill, with a louring sky overhead  image

We had louring skies overhead too Fairy - and horizontal rain for the last mile - but felt good to get out there anyway

makes me feel less guilty about the mars bar cake that I am currently snaffling with my tea.  Wonder if Lincoln City won ⚽️⚽️⚽️

Comfortably ensconced at MILs, feet up by the inglenook watching recording of the fireworks and Robbie Williams best efforts while helping to eat up the leftovers image

Look forward to seeing the pix Fairy.

It's been a beautiful sunny day here and, as a result, it wasn't dark as earlyimage

DD - glad you and Charlie enjoyed your break Best wishes for your plans coming to fruition.

Nice to get out though, isn't it chicky - although I prefer the hail and frozen rain than just rain!  image

It was a trifle windy flumpy, so it drops the temperature by a fair bit. The winds on the neighbouring Munro (Beinn Ime) were predicted to be around 40mph with gusts about 50mph. The hill I was on is about 500 feet lower, but it was still plenty brisk! It was just above zero when I left the car but colder higher up. Minus one in those winds becomes around minus 8 to 10. image

A cozy inglenook sounds just the ticket Dove image

I love going for a walk when it's cold but dry and sunny all wrapped up in my Wooly hat & scalf and then a nice hot drink and food at the end image
