Paracetamol taken and am now dressed and downstairs - razorblades in throat less painful - warm drink certainly helpful. OH is in charge of tonight's meal (leftover Irish Stew from the other day) and he'll bring food home for tomorrow.  I have instructions to sit on the sofa, knit and noodle with you lot and watch rubbish on tv.  Will try to manage that. image

Bird feeders don't need filling today and the birdbath isn't frozen image

    Good morning

so sorry to hear that so many are poorly, hope all improve asap! I take a spoonful in manuka honey every day. Don't know if it does any good but can't do any harm?,

doesnt look much of a day, I am going to have a trial pack and see if everything will fit into cases for Moscow I had quite a substantial list at Sm yesterday.  Praying their weather breaks before we go. It was -41 last night. Everything is shut and streets are empty. On top of it all BA is having a strike! Joy!

Morning all. Everytime I lay down in bed I coughed and coughed so went down and slept on sofa, which seemed to work better. Woke at 3am so went back to bed. Glad your throat is feeling less painful, Dove.

    Hello all.  image

Sorry to have been a wet blanket when I posted last night.  I was worried about my computer, and lay awake in the small hours wondering if there was any possibility that the malware had gained access to anything important - but at least the bank account looks fine this morning, so I'm feeling a bit more sanguine now.

I agree about the delightful young couple on Monty's programme last night (the one I was dismissive of image).  And I very much enjoyed seeing his "rejuvenation pruning" of their apple tree - maybe a tad more brutal than I'd have done, especially when it was in leaf.  Would love to see how it is now!  But I also agree with Punkdoc that the lady with the pots was irritating.  Total lack of decisiveness plus a rather fawning attitude to Monty.

But that's just my opinion... and there's clearly a place for this sort of programme, to enthuse and give ideas to people faced with a new garden.  image  Just can't wait for the return of Gardeners World...

Sorry to hear that the dreaded lurgy is still wreaking havoc.  Hope you can get plenty of warmth and rest - seems to be the key with these things - and feel better very soon.

Off out now to see if the computer man works Saturdays...

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Hotel number 2 ( long story ) Internet very shaky , but I'll do my best to keep up.

Much talk about potential trouble when new president takes over on 18th. Some have left the country for fear of problems.

Morning all - just woken from 12 hours sleep - that is a marathon, even for me.  Returning to work has obviously taken its toll.

Loved Monty - felt the same surges of empathy and irritation as others (isn't it funny how we all react in the same way) but loved the end result of the pot garden.  Made me think of our Potty Gardener and the incredible patch she createdimage

Today is a day for getting the deccies boxed and back in the loft (they are all down, just not packed away).  Think we might squeeze in a walk too, and must visit the GC for another sack of bird seed - they have eaten the lotimageimageimage
