I'm glad that Hosta got the rock moved without doing his back in.
Hubby got his car back today. Now he has to relearn an automatic. It only took eight weeks to fix. It got MOT'd this morning then arrived back. He filled up the tank on the hire car yesterday. They are fetching that back Monday so we need to do some running around to use some fuel up. The old car looks like a new one, except the smell is paint instead of the new car smell. We took it out to test it, for a bit of a run round.
Then coming back from the supermarket, an old bloke pulled out in front of us when we were on the island(our right of way). Hubby slammed on the anchors, I swore a lot, and it took us hours to calm down again. That would have been a bad phone call. Well we know you've just put a new rear end on, including changing the back seat, but now the front needs doing..... Nooooo.
Close call Fidget. Lot of it about. Some old chap pulled out of a side road in front of me this evening, completely ignoring the mini roundabout and my right of way. Lots of swearing and glowering and all mys hopping on the floor of the car.
Now I'm on tenterhooks as OH has driven to Nantes to fetch Possum. I hope the loons are staying at home.

I really think that everyone should have to resit a test after 75, and then every five years. My dad had a cousin still driving in her nineties. She figured it was OK as she was only going on roads she knew and only went slow.... I know in some cases it is their independence, but OMG.
Hosta I'm so glad the rock has been moved. You don't know how much I have worried at times expecting a sudden radio silence as you sink beneath it.
300 students this week; all doing Great Fire Of London. My brain aches. One more day to go!
Topbird when I realised grandfathers eyesight was getting dangerous I took to hiding his car keys and convincing him he'd misplaced them as he was insistent he was fine to drive despite
"what's the number plate of that red car?"
"what red car?"
Cruel but I'd never have forgive him if he'd hurt someone.
Time to sleep. I forsee giant fires in bakeries and bucket chain gangs a mile long in my dreams... again.

and don't get me started on foreign lorry drivers on left hand drive on the M1

.... or father in laws who can't see the TV screen to read the golf results but think they can see well enough to drive...
Evening all. Long & eventful day but collapsed on the sofa drinking wine & watching Martin Clunes Oz islands. Lovely photography
Driving to slowly is in my opinion as bad as driving to to fast
Happy birthday DD!
