Yes I'm very much okay; I wasn't in the fire engine at the time! There was much more in my tale but for some reason it didn't post??
Let's try again...
I was on towing duty today as we were moving some vehicles that are indeed of serious tlc. Now to tow a vehicle you really need one person per steering wheel. I had one Clarington per two steering wheels (I'm just that good!) As all the men naffed off.
It was my job to drag the vehicles round ready for the low loader. One of the older engines broke free and rolled in to another. So I had to call the boss to say that I'd crashed a fire engine... into another fire engine.
Been in the garden this afternoon, weeding and clearing up. Planted bluebells, crocuses and more tulips.
Dove's Ma had a very French attitude about vegetarians! My sister (veggie) was driving through France to see me and they lunched in a restaurant. She said she was a vegetarian so they served her quiche - with ham in it. When she said she couldn't eat it the waiter said quiche was a veg dish. Sister said but not with ham in it and waiter said but quiche usually has ham in it!
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Evening all. I've taken quite a lot of time to catch up.
We had a trip to Canberra for Hubby's eye appt. yesterday. As usual our daughter provided the driving around service while Hubby's eyes readjusted to drops etc. We left home at 9am, got back at 4pm. Both exhausted. The main shopping centre in daughters suburb was horrendous. Noise. People, unbelievable. We've become used to country living im afraid.
I took the opportunity to sit on daughters lounge chair and HRH jumped up onto my lap (my right arm) , then daughters poodle jumped onto my left side to make sure she didn't miss out. Dogs!
Punkdoc, I can't get you out of my mind. The whole Syrian episode is so sad! Like everyone else, I wish things would settle down and let people get back to their lives.
has anyone heard from Bushman? He was feeling a bit down last time I heard.
Glad to hear Clari is ok too, there seems to be a lot of sad news about at the moment, I'm not sure if it is abnormal, just when we get to this time of year anything sad seems even more poignant. A friend of mine messaged me yesterday morning upset because her dad was too ill to come over for Christmas, unfortunately, by lunchtime he had died, a terrible shock for her. Certainly makes you appreciate what you have.
So, everyone, go out there and make the best of the day.

I think awful things happen all the time, but we notice it more at some times of year. When it's darker and not as active outside I think we become more introspective. Traditionally it's been a time for wrapping ourselves in something warm, sitting around the fire to tell tales and pondering on the meaning of life.
That being said, I think there are statistics that show that the frail are more likely to die in the winter.

Fear not however; no damage done!

Clari , claim to fame , not many people can say they crashed a fire engine
BL , having had lots of holidays in the past in Rural France I can understand that they don't really understand Vegetarians
Hope everybody had had a good day
