Lovely pics Hosta and Liri.   Heavy frost here too this am but it's soon gone in the sunshine.

I am on kitten duty as they explore the kitchen, pantry and extension and our Creole cake bakes.   They helped me line the tin and make the mix.............

We took Possum to La Rochelle yesterday pm.  It's a lovely town with gorgeous old buildings and a comfortable atmosphere and we found even more good shops and a whole area that is just restaurants leading along from the old port.   Mission accomplished re shopping - Possum needed a frock for NY Eve and a new coat and, apparently, a sliver neck chain for one of her new Pandora thingies......

She's studying today and then off back to Namur tomorrow.   We'll drop off the sewing machine in Les Herbiers on a long detour home from Nantes airport.  The good news is that she wants to come again for her few days of post exam R&R at the end of January.

Lovely news for you Busy.   Look after that cold.  Bronchitis is nasty at any age and any time of year.

Too much other stuff to mention but it sounds like everyone is doing well and busy with plans for trips and hols and family visits.   Great to have good things to look forward to.   Have to admit I don't get the whole leftover turkey business.

    Thanks for the nice words.

I'm very well aware that we're very lucky to be here and every morning when I look out the window, I still get a wee thrill that it's not just a dream.

Happy new dog Lantanaimage.  You're going to have great fun together, especially being near the beachimage.  Hosta your pics are lovely.  I do love to see the 'bare bones' of the trees and you've got a beauty thereimage.  Have fun in the sun next weekimage.  Pdoc too, though not quite sure when he's goingimage.

Liri it was a shame for your Christmas cottage visitors.  Hope they had back-up plans.  You sound as though you had a lovely family time in Ireland And I'm sure the grandchildren were delighted to see youimage.

Congratulations on your news of forthcoming grandchildren LilyP and Lizzieimage.  Christmas is getting more expensive every yearimage.

Fairy I hope that all is well with Fairylet and that the pain and swelling have subsided.  With a bit of luck you will get a walk or two in before work beckons againimage.

Back to the shops again (in my new comfy shoes Wonky image). This time to take back my present to OH as the watch didn't work.  The shop replaced it and adjusted the wristband so all is wellimage.  Another gammon joint was bought and cooked today as they couldn't get enough of the first one.  Greedy g's.  Both sons names begin with gimage

Happy new flower bed chicky.  The cornus kousa is making me green with envy as I'd love one but I don't know if it would like our climate.

How lovely Lantana.   Were you expecting her?  What have you called her?

We have to keep our Wheaten terrier type rescue on a lead at the mo as there have been hunters in the woods a lot over the festive period and she now turns and runs for home at the first sound of a shot.   Nearly got herself run over the other day as she charged out of the lane and into the road back towards the house.   In France it seems they can hunt into February.  In Belgium it all ends on Dec 31st but that may change as they're not killing enough wild boar and they are becoming a pest and even swimming the Meuse to get to new forage.

Good luck with the new dog, Lantana, I hope he settles in well.

We have hunters here too. Used to be a nuisance when daughter 2 and I went riding. When daughter was at school we could only go out at weekends and that's when the woods were full of men with guns. They hunt until March when fishing season starts.

I've been in the garden this afternoon and at last I've planted my last two bags of tulips. Needed some fresh air. But it was almost too fresh! Getting to the bunged up stage of the cold.

OH says they were out with a pack of dogs the other day.   Normally it's just men and guns and the odd dog for retrieving.

Have you tried steaming yourself with some Vick's or eucalyptus or Olbas oil Busy?

Edd - that first picture is wholly inappropriate for publication on this forum.

    You owe Joyce an apology.
