A good day , been to allotment lunch time , getting ready for off to Swindon tomorrow for an 8 day Christmas break with family via a local farm to pick up a Turkey
BL , very commendable , let's hope we get peace and goodwill at Christmas
I can't find any info about refugees here other than a blog from October about a meeting about how they might go about it. No follow up. Is yours a parish organisation or a commune one Busy?
We have finally got some rain but it is of the drizzle variety. Been at it for a couple of hours now so maybe it will penetrate. We have been drilling holes in walls to hang pics, mirrors and tapestries. Behind a lot of the plaster board there lurk real stone walls............. The drill went on strike and refused to let me change bits so we've tidied up for now and got out all the Xmas decs.
Didn't see the Indian railway prog but BBC 2 had one on the advent of the railways in Britain and their effects on national time-keeping, communications and postal deliveries and the development of the wonderful Flying Scotsman to speed up travel between London and Edinburgh. I love steam trains.
OH bought some Quality Street when we were in Belgium a few weeks ago. Why? I bought us a 500g box of Belgian pralines yesterday. No crisps in this house but there will be mince pies at some point and maybe some biscuits of some sort.
That goose looks good and so do the festive mince pies and biscuits.
Have a good evening everyone.

Good morning all OH is on his way to work - hundreds of geese and turkeys arrive at the farm shop this morning ready to be matched with customers orders. the next three days are what he calls his annual 'turkey hell'.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Day of getting last minute things today, somehow they always seem to be the trickiest. My new year resolution is to be organised for Christmas by July!
Good day to all.

Turkey Hell at Waitrose too. We have a massive "chiller" in our yard and they're all in there. I went in yesterday to speak to someone , it's deafening in there . I have no idea how they work in there.
Thank you on behalf of not so young Master Dove - I shall ring him and sing Happy Birthday at him in a while. He says he doesn't want to be reminded - he's reached the grand old age of 44!

Happy Birthday to master Dove from here too. Hope he appreciates the singing. My Dad says I was a good singer before tunes came out.
Fairy those biscuits look great. Any left? It's awful outside this morning with thunder, lightning and heavy rain. Hope Liri has a safe trip. Off to SM later for the perishables but won't get into any turkey fights. I remember reading about two women in Marks coming to blows as one had nabbed the last turkey and the other grabbed it out of her trolley when her back was turned. Good luck to all SM and Farm shop workers for the next couple of days.
No thunder here Lesley but it's a bit manky. I did the last bit of food shopping last night and it wasn't too busy. Dread to think what it'll be like up there on Saturday when they park across people's driveways because the car park's full, so that they can squabble over the sprouts..... Ah yes - the season of goodwill......
Plenty biscuits left - I'm taking some to work but we were given a giant bar of a well known chocolate brand the other day so I think the biscuits might be surplus to requirements....
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
