Tree sounds lovely chciky. I used to gather pine cones and rhodo heads with the buds to spray gold and put them along the window sills with greenery and white lights. A few brazil nuts with a little smear of gold on them and clove studded tangerines as well. I still do do something similar. A few glass or gold baubles and Bob's yer auntie.  Much classier and simpler than gaudy shop bought stuff  image

DD - I know how horrible it is and I'm sending you lots of love x. I had to go back and prepare a house for sale, which included finishing painting and organising the new building work that had just been finished. It was all very difficult.  There will be dreadful days, but good days will follow. Keep sharing it all here - many of us know exactly how soul destroying it is, so we understand.  Christmas can be such a lonely time of year for a lot of people, but as Dove says - there's nowhere lonelier than being in a relationship which isn't working. Tell yourself that every day. You'll make it work - you're a positive person. Enjoy sharing time with Charlie and give yourself permission to be sad when you feel that way.

I've never been happier than I am now, and if I can do it, anyone can. I promise.

And every time I go up a new hill - I stick two fingers up to the b***er, because it's one more hill he hasn't done....image

I'd have taken some of the decorations too.

Actually - I'd have taken them all.....  image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

  • Clari - the term you're seeking is 'Sentence case'

I've found this ........ no idea if it'll work on screen tho'

Right, pressies wrapped and stacked, and the fridge emptied and cleaned and the contents rationalised and chucked or replaced in orderly fashion. image

The only thing left that I have to do today is to make supper - a shin of beef casserole with mashed potatoes and Savoy cabbage.

Your supper sounds delicious Doveimage.  It will be simple egg and chips here as I've been busy all day and nothing much to show for it except the decorated Christmas cake.  Like your hill salute Fairyimage.

DD it has all been said, stay strong. For what it's worth here s what I did our first Christmas, both students no money for decorations.........

we blew eggs, sprayed them with gold spray and glitter, florists wire thro and hung them from the tree. some of them survive to this day but they are so pretty more have been made over the years?

I have spent today searching for a goose, eventually found a supplier in the village! No it's not Jemima!
