    Morning all.

So much for my steely resolve!! " I'm not doing any overtime this week: I've got too much to do "

" Any chance you could do checkouts tomorrow morning?"

" Can't, sorry, I'm having my haircut, but wait, I'm having it cut at 9, so could come in after that"

" You're a start, start when you get here and finish at 1?"

    " OK"

    I'm a mug.

Nice to see you back Fairy

    Enjoy the mild weather.

    Hi all.

Grey and miserable here and that is just my mood.

No energy, terrible sleep, oh well at least I don't have to go to work.

How can you lie there and think of England

    Morning,

    misty, wet and windy here.

I far prefer the sharp cold frost (never dirty paw marks)

Morning all.  I've managed to catch up on some missed sleep but not quite enough.  Never mind, it's bright and sunny and 11C already.   OH's birthday today so after we've walked the dogs and steamed the kittens we're off to an award winning restaurant for lunch then shopping for an Xmas tree.

Bulbs will have to wait another day.

Good luck with all the baking DD and Busy.    Dove, we had to replace our machine recently and the new ones take huge loads so our whole laundry rhythm has changed.  Happy hunting.

Pat E - hope town wasn't too hot.  Clarice - lovely pic.

Hope you perk up Punkdoc and Hosta - extra pocket money!.

Can you do my Christmas puds while you're steaming the kittens Obelixx? imageimage

Just trying to imagine my cat allowing me to steam him - I don't think that would work somehow.

Waiting for W'rose delivery later this morning - and for OH to come home in the middle of his 5 days awayimage

Are you a tractor boy or a canary Dove? I was always a Man Utd supporter. One of my relatives was  club secretary & was killed in the Munich air disaster so it's a bit of a family memorial thing for him.

    Have a good one folksimage

  • I'm a Tractor Girl Topbird - used to go and stand in the North Stand at Portman Road in my teens, worked in a building overlooking the pitch, frequently 'bumped into' the players at bars and cafés in Ipswich in the days when International class footballers were 'real people' who walked, talked and ate in normal places just like the rest of us.  My son met Sir Alf Ramsey in a park in Ipswich when he was a little boy and was given a few 'footballing tips' and an autograph.  Couldn't go with Bobby Robson's army to Wembly as Wonky was a baby and poorly with something or other image  My parents were season ticket holders for years and brother has often been seen in the Directors' Box with his youngest daughter who has been team mascot.

As a family we also sort of support Luton Town (Up the Hatters!) as Gt Grandfather was mayor of Luton and a director and Ma used to talk about how she loved going to her grandparents' house for tea with her footballing heroes.  image

Hello everyone. Yes, town was HOT, and I skipped quickly between, Aldi, Woolworths, newsagent, and collecting Hubby from the Chiropractor and collecting HRH from her 6 weekly grooming session.  Couldn't wait to get home to the cool house. I think it was 30 today, and another one predicted tomorrow, but maybe some rain.

Watching a fascinating Docco about Indias railways - Dan Snow and team. Unbelievable number of people catching trains every day. phew!

  • Washing machine ordered - virtually the same as last one which lasted 8 years without repair, and for a fraction less money than we paid back then.  They'll deliver on Friday between 7am and 7pm - I'll have to get up early unless one of you can let them in?  image

It is officially warmer outside (10'C) than it is in the cupboard I call an office (almost hitting 8'C).

Still: this means that I will be getting my steps count in as I keep finding excuses to wander around to warm back up.

I think I've decided where the chickens are going! You know... when the house is finished and we are allowed to start on the garden (so... May?) I've had to phone up the carpet fitter, stove fitter, central heating plumber, and plasterer to let them know not to even think about us being ready before Christmas.

Not sure about the Green houses though.

But there is a plan. His lordship has two weeks off for Christmas. Although we spend it with family I need to get back up here for work: so surely he wouldn't stay down there with them? (Not if I can guilt trip him or more importantly his mother he chuffing wont). This means instead he'll be sat in a cold dark shell of a house while I sit in a... erm cold dark shell of a museum.. if this doesn't motivate him into action than its a good job he'll be working off site in January so I can get another man in to do the job quick before he gets back!

I have an aloe vera on my desk. Its looking rather sorry for itself. I think I need to find some clear plastic to build it a mini greenhouse if it is to survive the winter in here.
