  • Fairy, my bet is that the Turkey Rejector had secretly panicked when he saw the cost and wanted 'a way out' but yet needed to save face - bet he dashed over to Aldi and bought a cheaper frozen one ... which probably won't defrost in time image

The Farm Shop customers are all lovely ... even the one a couple of years ago who ordered a Bronze Turkey Crown - these arrive from the supplier ready boxed.  The customer returned the day after Boxing Day with a bag of bones - her box had contained the 'wrong half' of the turkey, and they'd spent their Christmas Day dining on drumsticks and Parson's Nose image Obviously there were huge apologies, a total refund, a hamper and a voucher for a free turkey the following year ... and yes, they still buy their turkey from the farm shop image  The supplier now double checks every box - and so does OH image

Barbara may have gone, but apparently Conor is on his way image

Glad you're on the mend flowers - your post wasn't there when I did my previous one. Hope you and yours have a lovely day  tomorrow. image

I suppose I'm organised. Just me and my two girls for dinner, when they come back from their Dad's tomorrow lunchtime. We're fairly blase about it all. Not too many frills or excess. I expect some after dinner board game or similar will be played, although youngest will probably not join in! She'll be too busy counting her money and eating. Nothing of her either   image

Not sure how good Monday will be for walking either Joyce. There's a lot of 'weather' forecast. I'd thought of heading to Glen Fyne, so not too far, but the wind's going to be a problem everywhere.

The hill wind I mean, not me. I'm not having any sprouts.....image

    Morning all.

    Survived yesterday, just.

I know I'm biased, but i reckon all the hideous customers yesterday were NOT local. My very first customer ( £150 worth of shopping )

Me: " good afternoon madam, sorry about the delay " ( bit of a queue at 1.30pm.)

Her: " I expect you to pack this for me"

    Great start.

Customer stood " arguing the toss " with checkout supervisor demanding Lurpack be reduced by pennies to be the same as Morrisons. He didn't get it.

Went quiet around 6ish so 3 hours of fairly light customers, all of whom were lovely.

Wonky, sorry about the job not working, glad you're happy with the new one. Look on the bright side, you've no doubt learned some skills at the last job you can take with you on your gardening journey in the future. All the best to you and " lovely Hubby"

Hope those feeling poorly, with poorly relatives, away from family etc have a nice time.

Just the two of us but I'll be speaking with my precious daughters tomorrow at some point.

I've got more woodchip to move today. image

  • Don't post often guys, but I do enjoy all your posts, so do keep up the good work. You all made me feel so much better when hubby had a bit of a wobble and ended up in hospital earlier in the year, and I needed to talk to someone....he is well now, and we hope to enjoy Christmas with the family, which hopefully will be extended in the New Year-Son and DIL have been approved for adoption, so good things on the horizon!image

Have a lovely Christmas all, and a Happy and peaceful New Year    xxxxximageimageimage

Glad things are looking up for you and your family too Linda. Always nice to have good news to end the year, isn't it? image

Dove - I think if I'd been the member of staff on the receiving end of that hideous customer's rant, I'd have been tempted to shove that turkey where the sun don't shine....sideways... image

I think it's safe to put the wreath on the front door now....

Once I've finished making the new holly berries for it. Just have to paint them  image

Hello all. Christmas greetings to all. Son and cat have been here all day, so I've not been on line. Tomorrow is the big day for us when daughter and grandson and extra poodle come down from Canberra for lunch.

we actually had a very heavy rain storm this afternoon, which cooled things down.

I think we will have an early night - Hubbybhas been in the kitchen all day and keeps nodding off.image

We're just watching the carols at the Myer Music Bowl in Melbourne then the Tele  will be off.

    night all.image
