Honey mixed with cinnamon and taken in hot water is supposed to be good too Clari.  Hope you fight it off but if not - take some sick leave and rest on someone else's time.

Happy Birthday Obx - sounds like a lovely day (apart from the kitchen planning bitimage).  Always great to discover new haunts.

Hope you keep the snivels at bay Clariimage

Just booked my Chelsea tickets - taken the plunge and gone for an all day ticket this time......can't wait.

Just been reading about an epidemic of asthma attacks in Melbourne, that they think were triggered by a thunderstorm - terrifyingimage

I think they are blaming pollen overload. Chicky.

Clari, have a pampering "me" day on Sundayimage

I always has windows open in the classroom in the hope of avoiding all the germs as kids coughed and sneezed. I'm a believer in cold weather killing nasties off.

Joyce; cold is one thing we don't need to worry about at the museum. The warmest room only got to 15'C less than two foot from the heater. I can happily claim that every evening the museum is deep chilled to kill germs.

Trouble is its also deep chilled in the day too.

I'll be nipping to tesco tonight so will grab some. I'm still using the vitamins you suggested last year; they've helped no end!

     Thanks Ob.

Unfortunately if I went off sick the only ones to suffer would be the schools as they would effectively be ignored until they went away. We simply have an educational team of... me. I'm not sure the others even know what I get up too much of the time!

Fortunately December is usually a quiet month so I can rest back (ha) then.

Chicky & Pat; it sounds terrifying! Asthma has always been a condition that scares me, anything else I think I could deal with.

    Morning image

Working from home today as I have a posh awards dinner to go to in London this evening, and the logistics get complicated.  Time to dig out the little black dress and sparkly heels, and attempt to disguise my gardeners hands and nails.  Hopefully noone will guess that my free time outfit of choice is wellies and dungareesimage

Clari, as far as I can ascertain from the sketchy news report, it is claimed that the high winds picked up a huge amount of dust and it was full of pollen. There were three deaths in Melbourne, I think.  The camera spent most of the report showing a very distressed father and a photo of his beautiful late daughter who didn't get help in time. They were complaining that the ambulance took 30 minutes to arrive. I hate that type of reporting. I'd rather get a factual report from medicos or suchlike.
