Oh, forgot to say, longterm weather forecast (we are obsessed with them at work) is showing a very cold, non- windy, quite dry winter ........something to do with the North Atlantic Oscillation.  Not always accurate, but 70% chance of being right.  Seems like snow is on the cards.  ❄️☃⛄️❄️❄️

Morning all. Definately turning chillier. 90 children in the day and another 30 in the evening. Busy season has arrived.

Cold and dry is infinitely preferable to cold and wet, and not too windy is good too. Snow isn't too bad if it doesn't drift. Maybe some cold dry weather will deal with a few slugs - perhaps it'll slow down the flatworm march - or is it 'slither'?

Cold, dry and sunny is today's forecast for here.

Some good sharp frosts will deal with some of the nasties in the garden......humans benefit too imho. if well wrapped up.

  • make sure you have good tyres on your car and some Yaktrax for your shoes. - both really useful in the snow.

  • Someone's trying to swim across the Atlantic. Am I the only person who thinks this is of no earthly use? If he wants to raise money for charity he should do something useful. the money spent on his support system could be given to charity and that would do a lot of good without him even having to put his swimming trunks on.
