Thanks Dove. It's worth remembering those thoughts. I think also that the thought of being only 3.5 years from 80 gave me a bit to think about, it sounds SO old. It doesn't help when you also feel ill most of the time. At least I seem to come good by this time of the day. image

The tomato was Rouge de Marmande. Very small but very sweet - we had half each.

    have a good Sunday.

Clari...have a good day with Reggie, lazy or otherwise,

Pat..agree with Dove re having more time to think as we age. I find that even a walk round the garden lifts the mood.

Think I'll take OH for a run along the coast since there's no frost.

  • We're going to go out for the day ... drive down to son's to return mended jeans and take some soup and chilli for his freezer - he needs a bit of tlc at the moment - and then we'll go to Southwold harbour and hope to buy some fresh herring and have some lunch, possibly on the pier.

  • Morning All,

Had a lovely day yesterday, got my 8 miles in too with no problem so feeling good about that.image The soiree last night was great; I made some mini Victoria sponges to take but sadly everyone who attended the 'do' brought something so there were far too many cakes. I am not sure what they did with the leftovers, I left before the end, I hope they will be used. I thought it would have been a bit rude to take some of my cakes back home with me but I was sorely tempted. image

Pat, sorry you were feeling a bit down yesterday, hope today is better, sometimes it is ok to feel a bit sorry for yourself sometimes and give yourself some time to think and get things in perspective. image

Clari, I think you and His Lordship need a good conversation - just so he knows where he stands. image

Off out for group lunch today at a friend's house, lovely surprise to be invited, I am not normally in with this particular group of people and am really looking forward to it. I think that ex OH may well have been the reason I didn't get invited before. Anyway, I better get a move on, it is nearly lunchtime here.image

Have a good day all. image

    Morning all.

    Ying and Yang.

Pretty good sleep last night ( succumbed to air con for 15 mins. I wonder if that helped? ) but , guess what?? wet stuff drizzling from the sky this morning.

I don't think it'll last but gives a bit of time to have an extra cuppa this morning before heading to the beach.

    Hosta Hugs for you Dove.xx

My head is buzzing with cold/ dry  and/or mild/wet projects when I get home. I have no idea just how much wood chip will be waiting for me , but I'm guessing LOTS.

Maybe today will be the day I open my book and start reading? , or maybe not??

    Hi all.

Feeling very down this morning, winter blues. Managed to force myself outside and hacked back a few trees and shrubs [ it would be exaggerating to say prune ] and the exercise has made me feel much better.

Off for a long soak in the bath and looking forward to a roast chicken stuffed with garlic and lemons.

Afternoon all. Dragged myself off to the German Shepherd walkers group meet up.

Only two of us turned up. Frank (the other dog) is adorable but unfortunately reactive if another dog barks first. I think he may have been attacked in the past and is wanting to protect himself by woofing loudest.

They'll never be the best of friends but they are learning to walk together nicely and Frank is definitely getting calmer around Reggie.
