Have just read back a few pages - interesting discussions. That headline about people not having toilets was on our TV last night as well, so it must have been considered a world wide topic of interest.
we had a horrible hot day here yesterday, so I felt a bit off again. I feel envious of you all coming into your cold season. Why cant it always be autumn.
When I opened the GH yesterday morning, it was 50c in there. Needless to say that apart from a quick watering for the plants, I left them to it and got back in the house. Would love some rain to save all the hose dragging.
Just got in from School (sort of) Parent/Teacher AGM, I've been made President
Now I am trawling the internet frantically trying to get organised for all the things I am now responsible for, like the School Christmas Fair in not very many weeks. No getting out of it, my new secretary has e-mailed to say she has submitted the paperwork to the Prefecture in Limoges already and the press have been and taken our photo - with me at the front looking like a rabbit in headlights. Now I am pretty sure I will be up all night keeping Hosta company trying to get a list organised. Well, it will stop me getting fed up and bored.

Afternoon Pat The white trunks of the eucalyptus help set them off against the sky. One for a jigsaw? We could swap rain for sun and heat.
DD - You are certainly going to be very busy for the next few weeks having been elected President. That plus your marathon training and English lessons will get you through the winter.
Morning all others as you arrive Have a good weekend.
Morning, lovely one here, although a bit chilly and rain forecast later.
Regarding my presidential status, I am not about to get big headed about it, quite clearly no-one else was stupid enough to be persuaded that it was necessary to do the job. I think the relief on the other faces of everyone else in the room when I volunteered said a great deal. Anyway, I will do the best I can and hopefully it will be a team effort not a personal burden.
Ok, must dash, Christmas Trees to source for the school sale. Have a good day all.

We lost the torch last week. I discovered it in the greenhouse this afternoon. Now I remember...
We have been out for a curry. It is already freezing out there, we had to scrape the car window.

Thanks Dove. Have just been out to open up the GH and a quick watering then back inside now, hopefully to a cooler environment. Sleep well everyone.

I've been out the back because we actually had a bit of cloud. Stinking hot today again, but a bit of a cool breeze now at 5pm.
a couple of Eucalyptus trees which I rather like and dam no 3. The levels are really dropping now. We really need rain!

Mme President eh? They must know that saying, if you want a job done well give it to a busy woman! Seriously Dd, they must think a lot of you
There's a sharp frost out there this morning. If it wasn't a Saturday there would be the sound of windscreens being scraped by now.
Looks like Hostas escaping to the sun just in time!
