Good evening everyone. I'm still tired from having visitors, but assume my energy will pick up soon. At least all the bedding and towels have been washed or aired on the line, so it's just a matter of rearranging that room for its next quiet time.
Wonky, all the talk of steel cap boots reminded me of when I was gardening for a living. Make sure you've got WARM socks. My toes used to get very cold.
Dove I found your link to Kelly's directory very interesting, since Hubby is the genealogy person in the house, I showed him, because it might be another source of data when he finds a reference to a village. Was this common pratice to keep lists of occupations and occasional names in villages in the U.K.? By the by, he used to work with a Terry Rule in Canberra. Haven't heard anything of him for 20 years or so, but interesting all the same.
Morning all. Only a slight frost this morning but gosh wasn't it cold last night.
Today's school have cancelled (for the fourth time) so I'm not sure what I'll be up too today. Maybe the boss will respond to the emails I sent... two weeks ago.
Tomorrow the plumbers arrive and I have the day off. I think I will be spending the day ensuring the green house out.
Good morning all G'day Pat Yes Kelly's Directory used to contain details of most residents and occupations. I don't know how often it was published but there we're several editions. Copies turn up from time to time in antiques auctions etc.
Your OH knew a Rule? Pa had a cousin Frank Rule who lived in Aus. He was married to Judith. I remember him visiting us when I was a child and Pa had very occasional letters from him. I believe he died a couple of years or so ago. I don't have any other info but one of my cousins may do.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Dove, Terry Rule was older than OH so he might be dead by now, since Hubby is retired. They worked together In the mid 70s.
Clari, was it you (on the October thread) who offered to talk about the FODMAP regime? I'm making a start today. I bought lactose free milk for the first time. I must say the whole concept of their restrictions is making me feel rather irritated. I'll never, ever, drink herbal tea and the idea of peeling apples makes me wonde if they know what they are talking about.. Never mind, I'll see how I go.
I think OH put the bins out with his eyes shut. There is frost on the garage roof. None on the grass or plants that I can see. Lowest temp in the back garden 2.3C

I don't know whether it is tiredness, but today I am feeling very angry. The main sources of my anger, in no particular order are: FIFA, Americans in general, all Western governments for not attempting to solve the Syrian genocide and the mole that is digging my lawn up again
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team

I'm off to town shopping now.

How odd about the same school cancelling repeatedly Clari. And how aggravating
OH has just put the bins out - no sign of any frost.

Hi Chicky. Even though it was hot through the day today, it was very cold this morning. Crazy Spring here.

Hi all.
Very cold and grey here.
