I've had to stop rushing about readying for our visitors as I met myself coming back. Slow cooked lamb sounds lovely and so does pork with crackling. Traditional beef and yorkshires here. Obelixx I had to laugh about your OH having cloth ears. I haven't heard that expression in ages,
Loved the firework pics Lizzie. Enjoy your lunch.
Beautiful, healthy looking roses Yvie. Topbird I think that colour would look superb with your salvias.
Chicky the bed had to be taken apart before it fell apart. His new one arrives tomorrow.
Joyce it was bad planning on our part to have everyone here this week. At least they are all interested in the tennis but younger son has just informed me that Liverpool are playing at the same time. "Tough" said I. Better get back to it. Have a good day everyone.
Hello folks - we're back! Great party, good catch up with lots of old friends and great to see their children and grandchildren all having fun too. Late to bed in very comfortable B&B and very good full English this morning. However, despite all the fun and frolics (or perhaps because of them happening in almost freezing weather) I'm now coughing and sneezing so am snuggled on the sofa with a hot drink while OH tips the leaves off the pond netting and checks on things outside. It's wet and grim out there.
Now I'll check up on what you've all been chatting about .........
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
3'C outside and it can't decide whether it wants to be dry, moist, or absolutely grim out.
Still with help (1 x nosy dog and 1 x nosy robin) we've tipped the compost bins (3) and refilled one. The rest scattered around the garden and left for the Robin to finish his business.
Only found the one small mouse looking somewhat surprised.
I'm trying to sum up the enthusiasm to go and get some butter for our crumble dessert. I'm not sure lurpak will cut it. Maybe we can just have fruit tonight.
Thank you Yvie, for recommending the Occitane 1-minute hand scrub a while ago - marvellous stuff . My hands look ready for work tomorrow - and that doesn't often happen after an afternoon grubbing around in the soil

Hi all.
Sleet and snow here.
Apparently I have upset a few of you with my comments on Judges, if so I apologise, for the upset, but I cannot apologise for what I believe.
No outside activities today, but have had a sausage sarnie, so all is well with the world.
Looking forward to Attenborough later.

Punkdoc, its better to get it off your chest than bottle it up, I always say. You'll feel better now.
Runny, you need to take up cross stitch.

Topbird, the rose is called Golden Beauty. I got it from David Austin.
Home from work an hour early
Punkdoc, some folk are very selectively sensitive.
Cuppa and cake and laze about for a while. Makes a nice change.
