    ggrrr  @ vanishing posts.

    Morning all. No frost here.

I'm waiting for Admiral Insurance to call. I had to change the details for the "new" van before driving it to work. They basically doubled the premium of the old van. I called yesterday and was told if I want to change to a new policy , the insurers want the equivalent of 7 months cover for " the period for which they've already covered " How long was that , I hear you ask. 26 days is the answer, not even one calendar month.

  • The first chilly night and the garden is full of birds - lots of goldfinches queuing up on the sunflower heart feeders, robins and sparrows on the mixed seed feeders, the spilled bits being hoovered up by dunnocks image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • image I think the retraining will involve some stern words and grounding for a while. He was flying very close to Norwich International Airport and I understand that failing to observe rules of any sort are very frowned on image

Morning all, haven't seen you all since I was in a B&B in York before breakfast. Just read 5 pages.

Visited Uncle in Yorkshire, who is nearly 90 and getting very frail. I have happy memories of him when we were all younger, Mummy's brother.

    Love your dog photo obelixx.

Punkdoc, just the moles would be enough to make anyone angry, let alone the rest of it!

We went on a walk yesterday, parked the car in a Norfolk village. Walked the mile to the next village in about 20mins. There was a gorgeous thatched pub so we had a cider and a prawn sandwich then set off in a round back to the first village. Should have been 3 miles according to the walk book. Somehow the instructions didn't quite match the map and we took a wrong turn and had to, eventually when we found someone, ask the way. He said the map was a bit weird! So the 3 miles took nearly 2 hours!

Having worked up an appetite and feeling tired, we went to a Chinese restaurant for dinner.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Morning - lovely day if a tad chilly.

Understand what you mean about feeling angry Doc - I have days like that too. After the Brexit vote I was angry for 4 or 5 days. I knew I was being a bit irrational but I couldn't help it. Have resigned myself to it now but still worried about how it is all going to pan out.

Very concerned by news from America at the moment. The election appears to be far from a walkover for Clinton. She is certainly not my most favoured politician but she is definitely the lesser of the two evils.

The thought of Trump in charge of America at the same time as Putin is in charge of Russia - terrifyingimage

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
  • Trying very hard not to think about it Topbird - there's absolutely b all I can do about it and if I think about it it's terrifying image

it says a lot about the usa that one of " two evils" is the best they can find to run their country.

The cost of £8m a year is up from an estimated £300,000 because the company originally contracted for the job had gone bust, reports BBC sports editor Dan Roan.

Stadium operators LLDC and the London taxpayer will need to pick up the additional costs.

    Surprise , surprise.
