Certainly not! He's the labourer and good at heavy jobs that I can no longer do. Skilled stuff is for me - or at least anything that requires common sense and a bit of nouse.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

We've just put new heaters on the walls in our annexe for our lovely tenants. Hubby did them this time , but I kinda had to hang around for some sort of moral support.
" Shall I just leave you to get on with those? "
"erm, no, just wait there would you?"
Pottiepam, I stacked the stuff for bonfire yesterday , to-day I started it a couple of metres away ,so transferred to make sure all was hog free. I did have to pick up a couple of toads and move them out of the way.
Not one single thing on telly tonight which I want to watch , so catch up time.
Off to the bowling club for their presentation dinner and cabaret. The food is usually pretty good so looking forward to it,
Obelixx your OH sounds as though he's as useful as mine. At least yours is showing willing to have a go but I think more supervision is required.
Enjoy your bonfire Hosta and well done for the toad rescue. Pam I've lived with my guilt for years after setting fire to the pampas grass here when we first arrived and I wanted to get rid of it. Thousands of ladybirds emerged from the centre.
Lesley - OH doesn't like supervision so I left him to it. Keep hoping he'll learn and yes, I will be in charge of rawl plug selection on Monday and some new drill bits for when we do hit stone.
Hosta - OH has very carefully laid a pile of bonfire stuff on one of several concrete squares that seem to have been bases for former sheds and playhouses. I want to pave this one and use it as a BBQ area with a paved seating area on the bigger one nearby. I shall use hogs as an excuse to make him shift it before he sets light to it.
Off to cook dinner now so we can eat and then watch Strictly. Limousin beef sausages with a gratin of root veg - both an experiment - and some lovely green cabbage.

OH has just phoned to ask if he should bring a big tub of locally made luxury ice cream home with him?

That's the kind of question mine would ask too!

Dove,I'm surprised he thought it necessary to call.
Just been and burned up the last of the branches. Aren't bonfires just great?
