The thing about Penwith, is if we couldn't dive out of St Ives because of bad weather, we could usually get out in Mounts Bay or Lamorna. Lamorna is very sheltered from anything except a south wind into the cove.
Forecast to be fine and dry here in London too, Sunday afternoon. Hope so as a group of us are off guerilla gardening for a few hours - mostly just clearing verges of rubbish, tidying up and planting bulbs.
Got a chicken curry ready for an early supper. Ooh must remember to put some wine and beer in the fridge.
That's right Tetley ... that's what real gardeners do ... take a plot full of nasty stinging scratchy unfriendliness and turn it into beautiful, fascinating, colourful fruitfulness to feed our bodies and nourish our souls

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I haven't seen the last 2 episodes as we've been away on holiday. What I saw on the previous episodes I broadly enjoyed, some sections I thought very weak, but more than 30 minutes of good stuff. On balance a positive change for me.
Rather than stop watching altogether, watch on Iplayer and skip the bits which bore you.
Good morning Tetley, always up for a quick tipple, and yes I am an animal lover, apart from dogs, having had the past few years driven to despair by dogs, been driven from our home by an ignorant dog owner without help from anyone, I and my good lady are irretrievably 'broken' as far as dogs are concerned, hence the opening thread.
Sadly there are very few sympathetic to those who suffer at the hands of dog owners and therefore like Fairygirl I am somewhat cynical, but as you say, as do I, life is very short and we try to get as much out of it as we can and enjoy chatting about gardening, or most topics.
kornflake, I'm not keen on pets generally, but live and let live.
Those of us who don't like dogs and those who love them are never going to agree on this point, so no point in trying to change each other, it aint gonna happen.
We're a friendly not , on the whole, and very forgiving.

Someone mention alcohol?
We ARE a lovely lot aren't we.
Funny how the OP hasn't reappeared isn't it?
Funny how this thread was their opening post too...or am I just cynical?
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Tetley; purely medicinal of course.
Fairy; Fear not. They might be getting notifications by email of us posting on this thread and remember to come back to say hello properly
