Not always.I have had some gorgeous days in Lamorna. On a sunny day, it's the best place in the world. I also remember one Easter when the storm was throwing waves up to the top car park.  About 50 ft up. I never noticed the houses up above the cove, I was usually concentrating on getting down the road avoiding other traffic and those unforgiving granite walls.

Just watched GW, it's very good, like the bit at the end when he cooks that chard. Some people might not know how to cook it.image

Aym280, I always fall asleep and hubby, but we do enjoy it.I think it's because we get relaxed from the busy day we've had.image

  • Holiday in Cornwall - now that sounds like an idea aym, only I can no longer travel any distance due to ill health - more's the pity.

We had a wonderful holiday there when our daughters were young on a farm near Launceston and Bodmin Moor. We did all the touristy things and our daughter rang the bells for a wedding in L. Church - one of the youngest ringers they had ever had. It was Easter time with snow on the ground and sheep in the front garden - all very memorable.

  • So you too have health problems aym - sorry to read that.  It is a damn nuisance when your body limits your actions, but then we learn to enjoy the things in life that most people take for granted - well I do anyway.

If you found driving in Cornwall tight - you would find Guernsey roads and lanes interesting. They are so narrow so that we often have to reverse into a gateway to let another car pass us. Many of the lanes are lined by dry granite walls so seeing cars with scratches and scrapes is not unusual. The maximum speed limit is 35 mph and that is only on the widest roads. All good fun.

Oh no, not another thread criticising Gardener's World and Monty. I like the programme and the dogs. Can't please all the people all the time, but hands off GW.

Funny how Verdun's garden is so lush when it never rains in his neck of the woods! image

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
