Enough is enough

This will probably get some peoples backs up but that will not surprise me at all. Last week will be the last GW we will be watching, until things change, the new hour long program is too much and has strayed from informative to space filling.

But the major grievance is in Monty's dog program, we want to hear and watch topics concerning gardening and have to endure endless shots of his dogs which have nothing to do with gardening, and now have another to contend with in Adam Frost's untypical 'garden' project.

If people wish to constantly watch his dogs then let the BBC create another dog centred program and let us return to the gardeners world we used to enjoy.

  • It's a free world (well this bit of it is) - that's your choice - it's not mine - I'm enjoying the new longer programme and the range of topics covered.  I don't have a dog but I don't object to seeing them for a few seconds (and that is all that it is) on camera, any more than I object to the inclusion of a shot of a robin or blackbird in one of the gardens.

However if the intention of your post is to pass your opinion on to the programme makers rather than to 'get people's backs up'  you're on the wrong website.

You need this one http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b006mw1h .

Well it's up to you if you don't want to watch it,but it's his garden, his dogs and they wanted to include them in the programme. The dogs have good following and people like them. The producers will put in other things as well as monty. People must like it or they wouldn't do it. Myself and hubby record it and watch it the next day,so we can fast forward the things we don't want to watch.image

I'm with you kornflake. Too much dogginess.

Oh look, here's the dog snoozing, aw sweet, oh look , here's the dog with a ball, aw sweet.

    Yawn yawn.

I too record it and miss out the bits that don't interest me, but I AM a fan of the hour long programme.

    Devon.
  • Well Dovefromabove, it isn't my intention to get peoples backs up but that is the usual response when anything derogatory is uttered regarding dogs, and I would far rather see a Robin or Blackbird than dogs anyday.

And to Logan I would say it may be his garden and his dogs but you should bear in mind that the majority of his expansions, improvements and plants will be funded by the BBC, and therefore us licence payers, so maybe I can say I don't wish to see a dogs program. Everyone has their opinion and I have just expressed mine.

Back to Beechgrove and people gardening.

    Happy gardening to all.

kornflake, you're entitled to your opinion, as is everyone else here. However, there are dozens of this sort of thread, and they're a bit pointless, because if you have a problem with the programme content, it would be better to contact the BBC about it. This is just a gardening forum.  image

I like the Nigel and Nellie programme. I also like the gardening bits in between.   Friday night is my "what will I do with a big lottery win?" night with a glass of wine and a bag of crisps. Adam Frost has the garden I would like. Whether he does the same as i would?  well I'm not likely to win it . But I can dream , can't I?

If you don't like it, watch something else.

  • Fairygirl, sorry but you chose to read the thread, and fidgetbones, I will.
