Bare in mind that I’m an overdetermined idiot doing hard landscaping on clay in January.
Yesterday I was snowing while I sorted out empty pots and went skidding down the bank on my rear twice before I decided that my nice warm house was the better option.
I planted some Echinacea this afternoon, hoping they will be ok as I got them in Poundland! Should look good all being well ,with Blue Spires salvia.Fingers crossed!

Have I ever. Went down to Dobbies for the pots for the things that are due to turn up, naturally a different delivery did turn up while I was there, and of course, all bare root and it’s windy. Just planted and staked a crabapple, part of a wild rose hedge and 6 lost label roses. Still got a stack of stuff in the back garden in pots that need sorting,
Surely there won't be any water restrictions this summer - we have had enough rain to last us a lifetime I feel sure. I managed about an hour in the garden this morning and then down came the drizzle which turned into heavy rain this afternoon. It's like a swamp out there!
If they still did hedging and ditching, keeping ditches, streams and ponds clear of debris, like old bikes and shopping trolleys,we would never have water restrictions. If you ever go to Brittany you will see how meticulously they keep their roadsides. Deep ditches that all run off to lakes..........every town has a lake tucked away somewhere!
The uk could learn a lot from this,it's common sense really.
As for being out in the garden today,I couldnt even get my cat grass planted!??

It was a lovely morning In Cheshire today. I have pruned my wisteria getting the spurs ready for flowering.
I stirred up the top layers of my compost heap to put in some paper shreddings. That bin is now full of worms already chomping their way through the compost. Well they looked as if they were enjoying it.
It was a lovely day yesterday I spent a good couple of hours pottering at home while I waited for a delivery. Amongst other things I moved some pots of bulbs up to the patio to encourage them to flower, Snowdrops are already in flower. My delivery included some new module cell trays, I am trying the big commercial ones like Carol Kline & Monty use. They have a good hole in the base to make extracting the plug easy. I hope they last better than the cheap ones I have had up to now.

I did go to Allotment for an Hour yesterday but it was mostly look see, & the endless retying of cage netting.
