I spent an hour pottering outside as it was a balmy 10 degrees today! I have cleared leaves from in and around the pond, cut back a Himalayan Honeysuckle and done a bit of sweeping etc. I too have noticed some bulb plants popping up and the little leaf buds on my Acers promising that Spring will be just round the corner. My next job will be clearing some of the brown stems and decayed foiliage of the perennials ready to make way for all the new growth.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Moved another gooseberry from the back to the front. Somebody's just offered to take our green waist away for free. Hubby's got to cut back the pyracantha hedge back, so that will be helpful.image

  • Put one of my mini greenhouse frames together to start off some seed sowing. Aubrieta and lobelia sowed.

Cut off the hellebore leaves, most looked fine but they were lying on top of my crocus and cyclamen.

Cleaned a bird feeder and looked for bulbs coming up in the garden. Could do with getting some stuff moved about but low on inspiration at the mo and don't want to plant things anywhere...

Roll on daff season, that'll cheer me upimage

  • Again digging out stones around the proposed pond area, it seems to be going on forever - soon by ready for the liner.

Washed windows, strimmed grass on tiny lawn, broke ice on smaller pond and bird bath.

It felt colder without the sunshine today.
