Hello , heavy rain this morning after lunch sunshine do managed a couple of hours outside
Went to 2 G/C last week , Christmas is a coming one already looked liked Santa grotto and other one setting up , bought some garlic for allotment and Nasturtiums only 50p
A way next week so need to finish tidying up garden / allotment
Put a lot of old compost on the garden where I'm planting the wallflowers, put some around the polyanthus. Late last spring I put 3 sticks in empty spaces where I can plant some hyacinths, looked for them today but can't find them.
Raining this morning, brightened up this afternoon blue sky and sun, emptied out window boxes on grandkids playhouse, re-planted polyanthus in them. Potted up a big pot with layers of bulbs, did a bit of tidying up.
Had an overgrown (10m long x 3m high & 1.5m thick) privet (well, privet, ivy, ash saplings and elder) hedge in the front garden removed and roots ground out today so have a new project. Will probably build my own trellis to ensure strength rather than put up a fence and intend to replant with a mixture of more interesting shrubs and a few climbers.
I was getting too old to be balancing on step ladders while leaning over with the electric hedge trimmer and absolutely hated the job hence the hedge getting out of control (neighbour away for 9 months of the year so had to do their side too!) Garden now looks 25% bigger and all of it will get full sun now.
20 x 50l bags of FYM on order to replenish the soil and currently poring over plant catalogues as I write.
A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
