None.  I felt it was too hot to plant the new plants and I have left them in shade in their pots with their feet in just a little bit of water. The ground is hot and very dry.

I did put the sprinkler on  early this am  to water a bed with newly planted stuff in.

Checked on plants I planted last night, for slug damage (sorry folks I DID use slug pelletts) pulled a few weeds, serioues gardening can wait till sun has gone from garden, too hot for serious stuff.

  • Too hot to garden now, but we managed to dig out a good number of Spanish bluebell corms this morning.  We have left it a bit late - the leaves of the bluebells have mostly died off which makes it difficult to know where the corms are, we will dig them out as the first leaves pop out of the ground next year. There are hundreds of them - we got about 50 out this morning.

Too hot, but I went to my local nursery and vrious plants followed me home, they can wait till the sun has gone to be planted.

    Nanny Beach

Plants have a bad habit of following me home as well. I went for some weed control fabric and came back with two gorgeous cultivated Foxgloves.

Yes I planted some seedlings grown in Jiffy pots, Mexican sunflower, Red Sage and Madagascar Periwinkle and harvested a pumpkin. I also chopped down an Areca Palm that was growing too near the house and put the Dendrobiums that were growing on the trunks in a temporary spot till I think of somewhere to tie them. I also tied some Cattleyas to another palm tree we have in the garden. Where is it? the clue is in the name?
