Lovely sunny morning here so picked a few stragglers from the courgette plants, got OH to reach the tops of apples trees to pick a good bucket full mainly Bramleys.
Made the most of OH being off work today to start dismantling a Berberis bush that had got too tall - over 8 foot.
Dug up a Japanese Anemone that was taking over the flower bed - I am sure the roots will sprout more shoots in the Spring though. Now having a quiet 30 minutes indoors before more work in the garden. The forecast for the weekend is rubbish.
Yesterday it was finally dry enough outside to empty the last of my flower pots and bring some more dried bulbs and tubers in from the GH. Rakes leaves and then had to go do some yard work for a customer.
Quite right Nanny B, we can't deny the children the pleasure of crunching leaves underfoot. Do they still do that - we did. Then we collected the leaves for our firework bonfire and the making of a guy. Happy days!
Did have problem with leaves but many years ago trees on bank where blown over , fortunately into farmers field and stream so EnvironMent Agency sorted it out so leaves not a problem , in fact sold sold leaf sucker / blower
