  • Hello GWRS,

I wish I could leave mine in the ground but we can drop to -35C during the winter over here.

  • I have planted up my pots with spring bulbs and also scattered some Hardy annual seeds as well. The pots are being protected with fleece. There is still some colour left in the borders with hydrangea, salvias, Rudbeckia, Cornflowers, Marigolds and Calendulas.

Greenhouse really hot, after 8d start, got to 19d, lovelly, removed my courgettes, blaming Monty, he said british cool damp summers were perfect for them! OK if you do have a cool damp summer I guess!! Little bit of tidying up, thats all.  Still picking (ripe) tomatoes. GWRS, restraining the wood eh, think my Hubby would like a bit of re-straining when it comes to buying plants!!!  Got some more snakes heads to plant, tomorrow?

  • Cleared some beds of summer plants today and planted wallflowers and Daffodil and tulip bulbs in rear garden. Also started aerating the lawns. Emptied some of our flower tubs and started planting with Pansies.

  • We have done nothing in the garden except picking up fallen apples first thing this morning.

We have walked to the GC but I was uninspired by their offerings.  End of season plant sale was uninspiring and Christmas decorations.  A poor selection of bulbs on offer this year too.

cleared up the outdoor tomatoes. only a courgette and some beetroot left in the veg plot now. Oh and some onions which are pathetic. Ive never had much success with getting them larger than a golf ball! Is there a secret to onions that I don't know about? might make onions my priority next year!

the front is in need of a good tidy but no time to get out there. work is ridiculous at the moment. did 15 hours on Tuesday. Not sustainable!
