The battery in the kitchen clock needs replacing too ... I'd better find the spare batteries ... I'm going to do some baking and the clock on the oven isn't reliable as the buttons sometimes get pressed accidentally
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Morning Dove, Joyce, Fairy, LilyP, Bushman, Hosta, Chicky, DD, Lizzie, etc - sorry if I've missed anyone - and good afternoon Pat!
I'm sure inanimate things walk around in this house... or maybe we have to blame it on the cat? She's the one who removes things from the bin, to bat around the floor. OH is very untidy so I tend to try & "clock" where he's put things (keys, especially), to save time when he's flying out to conduct his next choir. I've tried to train him to put them in the right place, but after 41 years I have to accept he's not very likely to change...
Who was it asking about the Paralympics? Yes, I'll definitely be watching when I can. Hannah Cockcroft is a local girl so we'll be cheering her on.
Managed a bit of gardening yesterday, but the grass was still too wet to mow; now it's drizzling steadily... the lawn doesn't have high priority in my garden though. It's just a useful flattish greenish thing to stand on when I hang out the washing (and to provide a bit of a contrast to the plants around, I suppose). I don't think Verdun would approve...
There's no escape from H....w..k today unless the rain stops.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
OH blames the blackbirds for most things - apparently they're responsible for the dollop of butter that appeared on the agapanthus on the terrace a couple of summers ago
Brilliant sunshine and 25C here at the moment - a line of washing 'dancing in the breeze' Sorry folks
We're out this evening ... a friend is having a 'walking about read-through' of his first play at the local theatre ... very exciting for him! I had a couple of plays performed by a local amateur group some years ago - brilliant experience if a bit nerve-wracking

Dove, 5mins ago I reminded OH that that's where his specs would be. . . .
Do you think he picked my watch up as well?

I've resrted to making a batch of fairy cakes - or 'cakes' as they're known here...
You'll all have to help me eat them. There's a real possibility that there won't be any left by the time the fairylets get home...
I have't got it Dove. I used to be an avid /bordering OCD watch wearer, and now I never wear one
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Pop a few raisins in my cakes please Fairy
I just feel like curling up with a good book as it's dark out there.

Found it!!! Underneath a pair of OH's socks on the bed - I'm sure I didn't put them there ....

Liri, I think a good few of us (especially women) regard the lawn in the same way. . . . I do like a well cut edge though, which my 'grass man' does.
