Due to low cloud, I've enjoyed a Red Arrows Flypast just above the trees and field across the road and two of the planes going over the garden.image

Dove, you will soon have a green lawn again image.- - - - have the mower ready.image.

LP - I'm extremely miffed that we didn't do the rosettes for your show  image

Our local one was on today I think. They had some slightly odd choices for their rosettes...  image

Been out and finished the new raised bed for one of the hydrangeas. Just need the timber edging which I couldn't get recently. Hope they have it now or I won't be able to match it up with the rest of the run. Billhooks and Bolfracks...  image

Rain's arrived here too , but it was a better day for doing stuff than I expected. image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Rain has gone and I'm expecting family down any time now for Fathers Day. I've got a large pot of Bolognaise Sauce simmering, so it won't take any time to do the pasta. Easy peasy.

Morning all/afties Pat -  hope the day has gone well  image

Weather has chopped and changed several times, so I'm opting for Glenshee, Joyce - some Corbetts there, but I'll decide whether it's one or two when I get there. I've got the maps packed this time...image

Fair bit of rain overnight here so that'll have watered the gravel I put down yesterday. Robin junior was on the feeder earlier - he's got his red tummy now  image

Off in a minute or three so I'll catch up later. Have a good day everyone  image

I sent a reply a few minutes ago and now find that it's not there.image

so, to repeat, we had a lovely Fathers Day. Sunny very little wind.

the lunch went down well. Leftovers sent back to Canberra for the ever-growing grandson to eat. Our daughter brought down a sponge cake, so that was nice to finish off with.

we are a bit tired now at 5.20, the sun is disappearing behind the hill, and I think dinner might be grilled cheese on toast (if anything).

fairy id love to see the young Robin. I think ours are different from yours. The one we see most commonly here is the one with the red spot on his head (bottom right).

  • Good morning all image  G'day Pat glad you had a lovely family day. image

Weve had more rain overnight but it's dry now. We're meeting with friends for fish and chips on Cromer beach  so hope it stays dry on the coast at least.

Have a good walk Fairy image

    Morningimage

I suspect Fairy's robin looks more like this Pat:

Off to Brighton for the day with the chicklets, to see my sister and nieces.  She has just had a significant birthday, so am taking her pressie.....a conical bay tree and pot to put it in.  Being a gardener I am also taking John Innes No 2, some grit and some slate chippings for top dressingimage.  Think I wiil pot it up for her, whilst leaving the bay tree in its current plastic pot - she can remove it next spring.

Taking walking boots, as I think a walk on the downs is on the cardsimage

Morning all, now sure what the day holds yet, but it's cloudy.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
