Hi Folks, It's a lovely day here so I've been busy in the garden.  Visited mum this morning and was very pleased she had cheered up.  I dread going when she is feeling down as I always come away feeling guilty.  Popped to Ashwoods and picked up some Rip van Winkle daffs.

So far have removed some crocosmia, thinned out the forget me nots, divided a heuchera and planted some Chionodoxa.  Think that will do for today.  I'm trying to plant the bulbs as they arrive rather than do them all at once.

Hope your neck and shoulder improves Hosta.

  • Take it steady Wonky - I'm sure you feel weak due to lack of food, but not sure if roast pork and crackling is what you need right now!!! image

Obelixx - it is amazing to think of all the events we've experienced (via news, whatever). Some good, some horrific, some hopeful.  I suggest listening to some upbeat albums to keep you goingimage. Love Bridge over Troubled Water thoughimage

Fairy I found I could move after Sunday lunch but only to bring three trugs of wood chippings the  council left by the lane.  OH did at least five so the potential swamp at the back gate is minimisedimage.  Hopefully I'll get a second wind (nothing to do with the sprouts) and get a couple moreimage

Joyce the tennis is just too enthralling to leaveimage.  Good intentions and all thatimage

Love roast pork and crackling but we're emptying the freezer and that's already gone.  OH and I have quail and pigeon to eat when Possum isn't there and lots of fish and I've just found more frozen fruit  I shall have to give away or compost.

Wonky - the new people have assured me they will take good care of my house.  Little do they know I'm not at all worried about the house but somewhat concerned about the bird population I have built up and all the insects and hedgepigs that live here too and, of course, the treasures I have to leave behind.

  • I know its not sensible Dove, but the thought of roast Pork and crackling is keeping me going! image unfortunately, its not what I'm really having for dinner

Yvie, glad mum has cheered up image sounds like you've been busy in the garden, I've planted my planter with bulbs but was waiting for the ground to soften before I attempted the rest image

Home from work, having a cuppa and a bit of carrot cake then I might do some more grass as it's still nice out there.

Can hardly bear to watch the tennis.....image

Rain came on so I went to the nursery. Not sure which is more painful...image

obelixx - what an album. Artie's voice was truly a gift from the god.  Can't begin to imagine how many times I've listened to it, but when those opening chords start and he opens his mouth, the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. Amazing times as you say.

Glad you're feeling a bit better Wonks. I'd say a roast is just the ticket...image

Understandable that you feel like that Yvie. Nice to be out in the garden though  image

  • Evening all.

Not quite six and the lights might need to go on soon. Been rather overcast all day but still warm. Windows and patio doors still open. Hope we get a few more sunny days.

Glad you're feeling better Wonks, but take it easy. Feet up and just watch tv.

Ceiling and skirting boards painted, it's gradually all coming together. After this bedroom I think we'll have a rest for a week or two then start the hall stairs and landing image

Hope you're all getting ready for Poldark! image

    Have a lovely evening evryone.

A few purchases made Fairy?  I must try to get to McL's in the spring.

Yvie and SGL,you have both been busy while some us are watching tennis. . . . .well it's raining.

I think it's just going to be soup followed by turkey salad for me tonight.

Obelixx, you are going to be worn away to a frazzle by the time you move/unpack furniture and plants.

It's just as well you have already done some decorating.
