  • That's horrid BL.  ((hugs))

I'm having to sleep on my back as my shoulder is really painful whether I lie on it or whether I'm on lying on the other side, as then the shoulder/upper arm is floppy and unsupported.  Flippin' nuisance image

Dove, I am glad you got help. I didn't mean tedult. Meant result!

i am curled up on couch full of steroids. Woke with a familiar rash and itch over hands and wrists, then eyes, then voice started to go. I know the signs and carry epipen but as surgery is literally a stones throw I went down. Lovely new young doc who was worried wanted me to use eipen get ambulance and go to hospital. I know my body and was confident steroids would do the trick so am curled up and gradually feeling better Hate taking them but needs must.  This is all because I forgot to put my gloves on harvesting the tomatoes!image

Glad you're both ok LP and Dove. Debilitating and frustrating. After hearing Hosta's story though - it's not too bad in the grand scheme of things....image

Don't know if anyone watched Countryfile last night - the family where the father had been struck suddenly with Motor Neurone. He's in his early forties and they reckon he has 18 months. 4 young children. I was bubbling like a big girl. Not a dress rehearsal, as Hosta says.

Hopefully my front grass will be dry after all this wind and I can cut it later. Intended going out after tea last night but it was dark! Can't be doing with this 'back at work' lark...image

Watched wee fat Elton at Hyde Park instead - he was fab. I'm slightly biased though...image

Hi everyone. Sad stories from you lot. Makes me think about my daughter dying when her son was just 5. I often think of how happy she was to have a baby after years of trying. Still, I suppose she at least got 5 lovely years. He'll turn 12 this month. Still lives with his father, but his other grandmother lives  just down the street, so he has some female company. We only see him once a year usually. He seems well balanced and happy, so that's a blessing.

Sorry about people with sore and damaged bits. It's a darned nuisance, alright.

Yes fairy I agree. At least I can get my eyes open now!!!

my dear mum had mnd it's a terrible thing and I heard about that farmer. The good news is that the ice bucket challenge of a few years ago raised enough for research to come through with groundbreaking advances. There is always hope for without that we have nothing!

  • MND's a bu$$er - friend lost her lovely husband to it a few years ago, just as they should have been starting their retirement in their beautiful thatched cottage with the lovely garden they'd created together.  Now another friend's son has just been diagnosed, in his early 40s with a wife and three young children.

Yes, makes me count my blessings.

Just had soup (pattypan squash and sage) and wholemeal bread still warm from the oven.

Hot today, we had salad for lunch. Lots of wasps about.

When my shoulder is bad I lie on the other one and support the bad one with a pillow to stop arm flopping. Trouble starts when I roll over in my sleep. Can't sleep on my back. Mouth drops open either snore or it gets too dry and wakes me up. Oh the joys of being 27!

My brother was recently diagnosed with Lymphoma, just started Chemo. Maybe I shouldn't put that here, should be on the Worries and Troubles thread. Perhaps I've already mentioned it.

Busy, I am so sorry, hugs to all. Life is tough sometimes.

There was a big leather clad biker chap in the chemist this morning, looked the type you would cross the street when seen.  I heard him say never to stop believing as when you think the big mans not listening something always happens!  Now who would have thought that?image Made me think

  • BL best of luck to your brother. My niece was diagnosed with lymphoma in her second year at Uni. She had the chemo while doing her course with the support of her friends and tutors, and got a 2:1 at the same time as the rest of her cohort. She wore a wig to be a beautiful bridesmaid for her sister and now, four years on she is a picture of health and happiness with a very good job and a lovely chap to share her life. It was very tough but she beat it image
