Joyce21- you have seen more of India than I have. You look lovely in Pheran and poot and Pahari jewellery.

Aym- wow!! Sooooo many bulbs!!! I swear if we weren't thousands of miles appart, I would have stolen em from you. I so wish we could grow peonies here. I was in love with them the moment I saw its pics.
Btw, there was a Persian(Farsi) and Hindi poet in India in 13th century. He once wrote a verse in persian about Kashmir : "agar firdaus bar roo-e zameen ast hameen ast-o hameen ast-o hameen ast"
Which translates to " if there is paradise on earth, it is this, it is this, it is this."

Vishu - my husband has quoted that verse so often.  In the summer, the Mogul gardens and Dal Lake are beautiful as are the intricately carved house boats.

When you are as old as I am you too will have seen a lot of India. I first visited 43 years ago!!!image

Of course I am joking, aym. image we get Dahlia saplings for 10cents and a blooming Dahlia in a 12 inch terra cotta pots for a pound.

peonies might like it hot but hot in my case means 45°C. You think peony will survive that??

Kashmir along with Sikkim is on top of my 'to visit' list!! Have heard a lot about dal lake and shalimar gardens.

43 years is a long, long time. Wow! Btw, how much would you say, India has changed since you first visited?

No new blooms for a month, at the least so no pics for now, I am afraid...... Only mums are blooming right now.

I always collect seeds. The last time we had rain or drizzle was in September. Collecting seeds is never a prob.

Aym: Hose for the garden and a bucket for the pots. Its a real pain watering them regularly. My city gets water from a reservoir 137 km away.  3 months is nothing. Next rain which can be expected is a shower or two in April end, that too if lucky, otherwise no rain before mid July.

The Black baloon sounds interesting, will have to check it out.

Me playing my childhood favorite game on pc. =D

Actually I found a way to keep my soul both moist and airy. The trick is to tear open a diaper and mix it's contents with the soil. The gel it has is excellent for water retention. Made a mix of construction sand+garden soil+compost+daiper material this year, Wanna see how plants do with this mix in summer.

The black baloon sounds intriguing. Will definitely watch.

It's been years since I played PC games too...... My mother forbade me from owning a PC untill I completed school. My aunt gifted me a laptop 4 years ago but my mom returned it. I used to go to my grandmother's in summer vacation and there I used to play Age of Empires series. Finally, now I have a laptop and that game.
