My monster cosmos from page one was toppled by last nights storm

    image

It had not produced a single flower but I'm still a bit miffed as I wanted to see just how high it would get. It was higher than the fence panels, you can just see it behind the bench in this pic I took on Monday.

Waiting on my Actea flower buds to open and then I can enjoy the perfumeimage

Kitty = has your cosmos snapped or can you stake it?

It was snapped Joyce, I've chopped it up for the green bin. Still have lots more green cosmos left image

Take comfort that we are not the only ones Hazel, there was a thread about a lack of cosmos flowers a couple of weeks ago with plenty of folks in the same boat.image

All I need now is a bit of muscle to help me shift that bench back to it's spot now I've finished painting it image

    Hazel -- says:

Aym, I am quite jealous of your dahlias! They are beautiful! Mine ( bar one) have all gone now. Such a poor year for flowers. Not too much left now.

Am loving looking at everyone's lovely flowers and gardens. They really are a treat and a credit to all who are growing them. Well done to you all! You certainly have the green fingers..image

My Dahlias are at the start of there best now and should continue flowering until the end of October sometimes mid November.
