This is the most surprising bloom for me this summer. In June I had gone into the Co-op store for a few groceries and I ended up on a rescue mission. They had brought in a shipment of small cacti and had them all stuffed on some dark shelves. I took eight of them home and this one thanked me a couple months later with a big bloom. They all have about doubled and more in size.

  • Always good to hear a happy ending Johnny Canoe...Regarding the Cactus. I saw a photo of your tomato crop too. And you have lots and lots of flowers. Hope to see some more of them on this thread.

  • aym and Michael, thank you both.

Passiflora incarnata also known as Passionflower or May Pop, the fruit makes a delicious jelly.

I use mostly plants at are native to the area I live in, Morrisville, PA.   My children like to say, "Thats an ugly plant, it must be a native."   They can't say that about this native!

imageimageWe had our first frost this morning, but only a mild one. The dahlias still look OK. -2°

But not so much out now. I'm glad I have Michaelmas daisies, they keep the garden pretty in September and October.

He sounds like a walking nightmare!

I am in SW France, Dordogne. It is hotter in the summer than England, but colder in winter. The French aren't so interested in gardening as the English, the climate here is harder anyway, but they like growing vegetables and pelargoniums.

Good morning aymimage. I see the family from hell next-door are still up to their old tricksimage. It makes my blood boil that these horrible lot make life miserable for you, they are simply bullies with no thought or consideration for others.

Please take care, I'm glad you managed a little sleep last night, hope it was peaceful. If you are using ladders to block the chimney in the garage make sure you have some help, or better still send your son up and you give directions from ground level.

Had a good nights sleep but woke early at 4am, I'm enjoying the peace and quiet having a cuppa in the kitchen.☕

Blimey! Beds in sheds, that's another one to add to the long list of unlawful/criminal activities. They seem to have an awful lot of vehicles and add on outbuildings. Makes you wonder how on earth they manage to fund it all eh??image

Well done getting the paving done yourself, practical is more important than pretty as far as I'm concerned. We shall say it's the perfect rustic effect you were going forimage
