Hi iamweedy, i will have a look at weekend, the ticket is in my box of treasures ;) it may be miss bateman as aym280 says. It had a poor start in life, 5 years ago. I planted it and it was doing really well, looking very exciting.....and then our puppies came along and chewed it through at the base.....it fought back again.....and again got chewed off.....and so it went on for 3 years, everything i put around it got sabotaged by the pups, the last 2 years it has been left alone to flower its socks off ;)

    beautiful pictures everyone ;)

Aym280, you were quick to get things covered up, its soooo cold here this morning and yesterday my friend and i went to a place called urban jungle, costessey. It was awesome but bloomin freezing and chucking it down, sadly only cash spent was a pot of tea, but we will be back, our trolley full of hope and excitement left empty in the wind :(

have you many tender beauties to protect? I will dig up my sole dahlia today, karma choc and put somewhere cozy....

ps heater on in the she-shed too now!

Blimey aym you have been busy today, despite the cold day. I think you are right, forecast is very chilly tonight....time got away for me today, so my cosmos and dahlia will have to brave it out until wednesday....fingers crossed.

Urban jungle is just that, loads of beautiful plant specimens, the tree ferns, big sort of fatsia looking things, trees, numerous shrubs, perennials, grasses....and a cafe in the middle of an indoor jungle of plants, it was very cozy, we had a pot of tea and toasted sandwich...it was bucketing down outside :( they provided umbrella's so we did have a nosey around, but will go back very soon.

I saw a beautiful grass last week at wyevale, i should have bought it then but didnt and it has been on my mind since then....stood about 3 feet tall, black stems and lovely fluffy tufty things..

Thank you that is amazing, i seem to remember seeing something about this place on tv? I remember the dahlia beds and all the hard work that goes in to creating them every year. My friend and inhave been doing local ngs gardens this summer, norfolk. look forward to dahlia pics, i'll see if i can find a little something in my garden worth taking a pic of in its last days of flower ;)

Stunning pictures aym, you know how to take a photo...love the romneya, that is on my wishlist ;) ....my friend and i went out in the pouring rain today to "romantic garden nusrery at swannington" it is a lovely place...we came home wet and bedraggled but with her van full of goodies! We both bought a holly tree, bit straggly but laden with berries, in the bargain bucket corner £5 each, they stand at least 6' tall....proprietor was going to throw them out....my friend bought some lovely box to makeva feature pathway and i fell in love with this beauty...'arbutus unedo, strawberry tree' never seen anything like it before, full of lovely white flowers and little strawberry fruits, that take 2 years to mature!

Funny zenjeff ;) thank you aym, yes we are in norwich but my friend is on the coast, so she has the sea breeze to battle with....we have always loved plants and growing veg, sharing our stories, but until my circumstances changed this year i spent little time gardening....did a bit but no time to get stuck in. Next year will be my first full year, yee hah :)
